WOW!
Stunning!
they are really really really good!
i especially liked how each warrior looked totally different, it gives you the feeling that they're all from different tribes.
very nice. 8)

Thanks. Which guy did you convert it from? I have had the idea to convert a foot banner from the raider box set as I don't want a cavalry banner, but I haven't decided which figure to convert. I will probably go with an archer in the end, because I don't need 50% archers...

I converted him from the spearman without a cloak. The one that is doing an underhand thrust. I would not advise this conversion if you are new to conversions but if you are comfortable with them then go ahead.

Ok guys, The fur on the Horses is done for my Haradrim Raiders. I'll probably do the armour next. Both horses and soldiers.

The lighting quality is not ideal.

I agree, they are excellently done.

Which reminds me, I've alway wanted to know how to succesfully do the yellow-colour horses without them looking daft, could you explain?

Indeed, if you could post up the basic colours you used for the different colour horses that would be great. I am (slowly) working on some harad raiders and any inspiration/help is good! :)

For the yellow, you will require Sunburst yellow, Snakebite leather (or something similar) and skull white.

The way I did it was mixing yellow with a bit of snakebite. Just a little bit. The less brown you put in, the more yellow it will be. I painted the whole horse with this. Two coats seeing as mine were undercoated with black. Next I watered down some pure snakebite leather and gave the whole figure a wash with that. Then I mixed the yellow with the brown again and began highlighting. Adding more skull white to the mix until I was satisfied with the highlights.

I have actually added a bit more to the horses fur. Some of them now have socks and stockings. Both black and white ones.

Those are some of the finest horses I've ever seen.
Socks where indeed one of the few things they were still missing.
My only critiscism is on the yellow horses, they're a bit to yellow imo, but that could also be this computer, as I'm not on my own computer.

Looking forward to seeing how you'll tackle the wicker horse armour.

Thanks. Yeah, one of the horses is quite yellow but I like it like that.

The armour is going to be done the same as the Haradrim armour. Goldish.

Your going to paint the armour goldish? Cause it is wicker.....I'm not sure why GW painted it gold...*silly GW*

I just noticed you put the back banner things on before you finished painting the guy, I'm interested to see how that goes. I kept mine off because I thought they would be in the way too much when I was trying to paint the guy.

Well I'm not actually sure it is Wicker. It has an identical texture to the rider's armour and I doubt they are going to wear wicker.

They look great Samoht! 8) Good work, I look forwards to seeing them complete 8) :D
How did you paint the horse on the bottom right in the second picture?

As to the wicker/gold discussion, paint it as whichever you like, GW paint it like gold, but it's sculpted similarly to the Mahud, so you could paint it as wicker too. I've painted it as both gold and wicker, so go for whichever you think looks best.

The Haradrim in the film wear wicker.

Thanks.
For that horse, I painted it using elf flesh with a bit of bestial brown. Then washed the whole thing in watered down bestial brown. Then highlighted once again with the mix of elf flesh and bestial brown until only elf flesh was used.

@ as for the wicker armour situation. If they wear wicker in the movie then thats fine, but I would rather my army not look like they are wearing picnic baskets for protection.
