Calm down, its here.

The gaming board first got a coat of brown paint and I let it dry:

Then I watered down some glue and put sand on the board:

And in between drying times I started to paint some stuff:

Eomer's armour is a real b***h to paint :x I won't be a able to do much more on the board tomorrow because I have a DofE training day which involves putting up tents in a muddy field :(

Yeh it is quite hard to paint. I'm following bits of a BGiME mag that I got for christmas and I was surprised to find it still had models in it (from Amazon- £7.50). Thanks for the comment.

The sand has been shaken off and then painted and next will be painting the banks and river bed.

(It looks patchy because it is still drying)

Looking very promising Cyndra!
Always nice to see a big battleboard in progress! (although it reminds me of the lack of space I have myself, which is why I don't have boards of that size...)

Will follow this space with both eyes mate!
Good luck! :)

Don't worry I know the feeling. It does take a lot of weekends, and in the winter here you just don't feel like doing anything after school. Anywhoo keep up the good work. Look forward to your update!

You hit the nail straight on the head mate! And here is the update:

Putting some more base coats on Eomer and the elf (flesh looks horrible here)

And the river has been painted:

The colour looks a lot more uniform IRL. I have ordered some water effects and 2 pots of GF9 flock from Total Wargamer so that should arrive early next week.
That's all for today folks!

Here is some more progress on Eomer. I got annoyed with him and couldn't be bothered doing anymore highlighting so he is getting based now:

Any my order came today!

And a question: How should i seal up the ends of the river so the water effects don't spill of the edge?

You could try taping some plastic (like from the top of am ice cream tub) to the ends. I don't have experiance with water effects, so that might not be secure enough though. I guess you will also have to be careful not to have the water effects 'lap' up onto the end piece and make a 'lip'. :)

I use packing tape. Don't pour the water to deep. It will take a long time to dry.

Looks good Cyndra and some nice progress coming along. Your river does look a little flat, so if you wanted you could add a layer of transparent silicone which would give you a nice depth. You would also maybe need to colour it a little, so you could see the colour of both the water and the bottom of the river... if you see where I'm going. Anywhoo keep it up, look forward to see your board done up.

Thanks for the comments guys, I should be able to post a pic of the bridge tomorrow.

Drum: On the photos I must agree the river has no depth but IRL it does look pretty deep it's just it is quite hard to capture shiny surfaces on camera. Thanks for the tip though 8)
