Yeh I'm getting used to that unarmoured head now, any of the elves would look great as captains, I can't find a pose that I don't like.
Couldn't take a good picture of the Uruks without it appearing too dark or the flash giving the appearance of shiny cloaks
so I will make an effort tomorrow morning before I go away to post some pictures.
In the meantime here are some Helms Deep WIP photos
The layout, to scale
<a href="http://s194.photobucket.com/albums/z261/lorderkenbrand/?action=view¤t=P1010377.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i194.photobucket.com/albums/z261/lorderkenbrand/P1010377.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>
The building of basic shapes
<a href="http://s194.photobucket.com/albums/z261/lorderkenbrand/?action=view¤t=P1010386.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i194.photobucket.com/albums/z261/lorderkenbrand/P1010386.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>
The height difference is going to be one polystyrene sheet as in the image. The outer wall will be 3 sheets high, the inner 4.
<a href="http://s194.photobucket.com/albums/z261/lorderkenbrand/?action=view¤t=P1010387.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i194.photobucket.com/albums/z261/lorderkenbrand/P1010387.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>
The base for the inner courtyard and walls
<a href="http://s194.photobucket.com/albums/z261/lorderkenbrand/?action=view¤t=P1010389.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i194.photobucket.com/albums/z261/lorderkenbrand/P1010389.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>
I only have a limited supply of the blue stuff so I will be using the nasty white stuff where ever I can
<a href="http://s194.photobucket.com/albums/z261/lorderkenbrand/?action=view¤t=P1010391.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i194.photobucket.com/albums/z261/lorderkenbrand/P1010391.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>
As I haven't decided how I am going to complete the wall surface, I am taking care to use the same material through out incase I do decide to carve into the polystyrene. The arch and stairs are carved out to maintain that effect.
<a href="http://s194.photobucket.com/albums/z261/lorderkenbrand/?action=view¤t=P1010395.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i194.photobucket.com/albums/z261/lorderkenbrand/P1010395.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>
The beginnings of the horse ramp into the inner courtyard
<a href="http://s194.photobucket.com/albums/z261/lorderkenbrand/?action=view¤t=P1010398.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i194.photobucket.com/albums/z261/lorderkenbrand/P1010398.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>
The pieces positioned. Nothing stuck in place yet.

The underside of the inner wall now (now 3 sheets high)
<a href="http://s194.photobucket.com/albums/z261/lorderkenbrand/?action=view¤t=P1010409.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i194.photobucket.com/albums/z261/lorderkenbrand/P1010409.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>
<a href="http://s194.photobucket.com/albums/z261/lorderkenbrand/?action=view¤t=P1010410.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i194.photobucket.com/albums/z261/lorderkenbrand/P1010410.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>
Horse ramp carved

What these images don't say, is the countless hours spent watching the Helms Deep scenes, the documentaries on the Extended Edition and looking at other peoples work all over the net. There is a wealth of material not only on the English LOTR sites but all (what looks like) German, Polish and probably many others I've yet to discover.
