Woah! Those are cool! I never really liked black Numenoreans, but they've been growing on me recently, especially after seeing these. The armor suites them perfectly, and the robes are good too.
I also like the warband you painted, the colors looked so good on them.

Those Black numenoreans look miles better than the GW paintjobs.

Thanks hannanibal! High praise indeed. I love the avatar, btw.

Here's where I am with my evil army now. I feel really guilty about not painting much of it yet, but I've been a bit ill and busy lately so not really felt up to much. Gothmog, a Ringwraith and some Black Numenoreans are the only ones painted! I'm waiting on some more Black Numenoreans and an orc shaman on warg in a trade, and then I should be cracking on with it.

So i've just read that you've taken a break from the Haldir's Elves as your stuck? i wonder if i may be of some help for you? As i have over 1000pts of them, currently 69 Haldirs elves then throw in some hero's and it's a huge all metal army.

Your army is most impressive Saxon. Yeah, with the Haldir's Elves, I wanted to try and get their armour as close to the GW paint job as possible. I kinda got a bit muddled and decided to leave them until inspiration/a painting guide struck. You could PM me some photos and advice on colours if you'd like. :)

I think I'm gonna make a start on Amdur, Lord of Blades today.

EDIT:

In case anybody didn't see them in the the voting thread for Warbands, here's me completed warband. Sorry for not posting them earlier

That really is a nice-looking warband, I especially like the colours of the rangers' tunics and cloaks. I tried to emulate some of your colours on my Rangers of the North in fact! Great work, Shieldmaiden, looking forward to seeing more. :)

The palette of colours ties the warband together as does the neat basing. You have managed to make the Monkey Twins look pretty decent as well (I hate the fact that such formidable fighters were ruined by sunstandard sculpts).
I haven't really thought much about painting the GW Rangers of the North for myself as I always imagined them to be more rugged, tall, sombre men dressed plainly in dark, earthy colours. The plastic rangers are too alike one another in their outfits. I may trawl the interwebs for some surrogate Dunedain, unless GW have a few new ones up their sleeves for The Hobbit.
