Thanks for the comments. To answer a few of the questions:
I cannot take any credit for painting the models, though I can take credit for the many conversions. I am terrific at conversions, but I can't paint well. My armies were painted by several people -- Matt Sturbenz (dead), Patrick Belfiori (Mordor, Harad, Easterlings), Barry Holden (Moror), Stefan Brohl (Galadhrim Elves), Ciaran O'Connor (wood elves) and Dragon Painting (all others).
Yes, the army will grow in size. I have an Angmar force out being painted by Dragon right now, Patrick Belfiori is doing a massive Dwarf army (with 48 vault Wardens) for me, and Matt Sturbenz is doing my Moria troops. I also have a Numenorean and Arnor army that needs painting.
When the Hobbit comes out I am sure my armies will increase more. I will definitely do a Dale army, and will add the special units for the Elves, Dwarves, and Gobblins, but I'll be damned before I buy anything like Dwarf boarriders. I will most likely stay away from Finecast stuff. My armies by the way are all metal or plastic, and I currently only have 3 finecast models.
Dragon charges $7.50 a foof figures and $15 for a mounted figure. The price does go up for characters, captain, and banners. Some troops (High Elves) cost a little more to paint. Howevr, the cost decreases with large orders, and my current ones are large enough to obtain a 20% discount.
I have some good terrain as wel, most made by ESLO (or ELSO), a German terrain making company. I posted pictures of my Realm of Battle that I did (have 2 of them), along with the Osgiliath bridge by ESLO. I have numerous other Osgiliath ruins made by ESLO, even some homes that can double as ruined and intact. I also have an Easterling Temple and tower, Rohan stable, homes, and barns. In addition, I have two Minas Tirith sets and one Helms Deep set. A fellow in the UK is making me curved walls for the Minas Tirith sets, and 4 Mordor Siege Towers--Grond to follow latter.
