The stairs look very nice, how well do minis stay in place on them? The passageway under the stairs was a great idea as is the broken down wall. Keep it up.

There is only one way to show you that I guess: a picture.

And a better picture from the corner which was left out on the previous update because he still needed some black paint.

Whichi s the problem, I never painted wood before so i'am curious if some of you know how to make it look good. Pictures appreciated. And tips where I can buy the right paints are most welcome too.

You have done a great job :D

I like to stain wood with wood stain. You have to stain it before you glue it for the best effect. If you want to paint new wood. Use light yellow tans. I like to finish it with Min Wax golden oak. The whiskey barrels were done this way.The small sheds were built with stained wood strips.I used the golden oak for those too.The boat and shingled roofs were cast so I had to paint them black first. I used the darkest brown craft paint I could find. I dry brushed it over the black.I added some tan to the mix and dry brushed it again. I wanted it to be dark so I used Walnut stain for the finish. I think you should use light colors with your ruin because there is already so much gray.

In the USA any hard ware store chain store or craft store will have Min Wax. Many have there own brand of craft paint as well. Try to find the new water based stains if you can. The Stain in the plastic bottles came from Joe Ann's Fabrics. Most of the craft paints are good enough for terrain . The large bottles cost less than a bottle of GW paint.

Plaid waterbase stain. They also have Minwax. and Americana, Folkart and Delta paint. I like Delta because colors are marked opaque transparent or semi transparent. Delta opaque ivory will cover a black under coat while transparent yellow would need to be painted over a white undercoat. Joe Ann's also has teddy bear fur for thatch roofs and wheat fields.

I use the walnut stain over dark brown paint. The brand in the photo is FolkArt Burnt Umber. My favorite dark brown is Americana Asphaltum. I use MinWax English oak over gray paint for plaster cast rocks. I use more gray for wood for old west towns because I like to match Fred's buildings and ships.

I like what I am seeing here - the buildings are detailed and well scarred. The style says 'Gondor'. A minor quibble - I would vary the colour of some of the stone work - having all of it more or less the same colour and shade can get a wee bit monotonous.
More pics PLEASE!
