So, I was talking with GloryforGondor, who I play with the most frequently, and I wanted to discuss some in house rule changes that I think should be fixed. Ill post them, and you guys discuss. Any other suggestions you have(even outside of my units) please feel free to suggest. #1-Lurtz: Also, Lurtz....I suggest we give him defense 6, 3 attacks, and give him Narzugs special rule. So: 5/3+ 5 6 3 2 4 3/1/1 Special Rule: Every Round, once per shoot phase, he may use a free point of might to modify a to hit, in the way, or to wound roll when shooting. Upping his points by 15 for the 1 attack, 1 defense, and special rule to 75 pts. I think its fair. In comparison to Eomer, he has 1 less will, fate, and courage, but has a special rule, extra attack, and more strength. It about balances out, and he has less wargear options. #2- 1-Thorin and Dwalin can lead warbands of Iron Hill dwarves(Erebor profile) except just +1 to the Erebor points cost because you can have those two profiles lead them 2-Fili and Kili can be in Thorins warband(old or new ones) at their normal point costs. So Thorin, King of Erebor Fili and Kili 10 Iron Hills dwarves with shield #3-Gundabad Orcs. I suggest they be +1 point and 4 fight value. So they pretty much become Uruk Hai +1 point with their special rule. Theyre supposed to be the baddest orcs from centuries of war, and theyre fight 3? #4- Warriors of Minis Tirith with an option at +1 point fight 4. Guards of Fountain Court/Citadel Guard strength 4 for +1 point. #5- Grimmhammers Defense 7 at +1 point #6- Eomer, Knight of the Pellenor fight 6 for +5 or maybe 10 points. Id say ten but we didnt really discuss it. Thats what we have so far. Thoughts? I am going to make a Theoden profile too soon. There are already some cool suggestions on this site. Ill have a look. |

Hi, #1 & #5 are very good, the other rules could be used but they are not really needed in my opinion. #2 I don't understand this rule. Does that mean that your warriors of erebor cost one point extra when they are leased by thorin, kom? Or is this something like redshiels? If that's the case, what's their upgrade? |

Thanks for your comment. They are indeed 1 point extra for the same profile. I do this because they arent technically allowed, so it at least costs a bit more for those profiles to be lead by the new Thorin and Dwalin. |

Okay, I like that rule. However, I hope that it will not be needed in future because we will get iron hill dwarfs *fingers crossed*. |

I really like your solution to Lurtz's otherwise lackluster shooting. You might even simplify it to "Lurtz gains one free Might per turn, which can only be used when he makes an attack during the shooting phase." #2 & 5 seems only sensible. #3, 4, & 6 seem fine for the points you propose (I would only charge Eomer 5 points, as the jump from 5 to 6 isn't that significant), but I don't think they're supported by the lore. |

I dunno, was there some line to,that effect in the movie? Maybe they are. I have to be honest, when it comes to The Hobbit, the changes made by the movies are generally dismissible, to me, so I'm going off of what the books tell me, and in that case, Gundabad orcs are just that - nothing special, in fact less than ordinary orcs even. They're just orcs from a particular mountain (Gundabad), which means they're orcs without the benefit of Saruman or Saurons's discipline or training. To me, they are the wildest and most chaotic of the forces of evil: the descendants of the orcs of the First Age, but without any guidance or structure. At this point in the story, their only leadership for millennia has been the brutality of other, stronger orcs. If ever there was a low-skill swarm army, Gundabad orcs are it, IMO. |

Well I figured they were fighting the Elves and Dwarves for all those centuries and that will obviously lead to a strengthening of combat prowess. Am I wrong in thinking they fought them all that time? |

Gundabad Orcs did partake in many wars against Elves and Dwarves, and they did form an important part of the Witch-king's Angmar host. Whether they should be elite or not, it could go either way. |

I wouldnt even say fight 4 is elite these days. Id say the standard is 3/4. |

I think it depends on the race. F4 is elite for men and orcs, but only average for dwarves and even low for elves. |
