Post subject: | House Rule: Texent NEED HELP WITH STATS |
Hi I made a conversion of a Lothlorian Bowman and turned him into one of the five wizards this one is a Blue Elf Wizard if you can help me that would be great well here are the stats so far. Texent (Elf Wizard) pts:155 M3 W6+1 per turn F3 F S D A W C 5/- 4 5 2 3 7 Texent is one of the Wizards of Othance he is Elf born but some how has wizarding blood in him,he is the second son of the great ruler Thaunundril and is brother to Legolas. When Texent was young he was captured by orcs that had been set out by Sauron from Dol Guidor he was taken to the dungon and was kept captive until Gandalf found him at the end of the 2nd age.Whilst in Dol Guidor Texent found a magical elven blade he named it Destsney and is very powerful with it. Wargear Texent carries a sword (hand weapon) and at additional cost he may be given. Desteney 75pts Elven Cloak 10pts Horse 10pts Horse F S D A W C 0 3 4 0 1 3 Special Rules Staff of Power Texents staff is not only a symbol of Texents authority but a pointent talisment,to represent his staffs power Texent can expend 1 point of Will without reducing his own store. Ultimate Being Texent was kept captive for so long his anger made him powerful his energy was built up and when he uses magic he may use it either in the Move Phrase or in the Fight phrase but not both. Magical Powers Immobilise See rule book for rules page 62 Sliver Wind Range 24" Dice Roll 4+ Texent casts a mighty gale of wind and blows away anyone in range (apart from allys) the enemy can do nothing else that turn. Lightning Range 12" Dice Roll 3+ if an enemy is hit with this attack they will suffer a Stength hit of 6 and will be wounded and can do nothing else that turn. Brotherly Love Range 12" Dice Roll 4+ If Legolas is inclued in the force then Texent may be inclued too.If Legolas is been shot at by an Archer then Legolas can roll and extra dice to see if he can parry the attack. Well I hoped they will be ok (they are my first house rules) thanks Texent |

Hi texent First i would say that the idea of making an elf mage from a Lorien bowman sounds very cool i would try that myself one time. In your text there is some parts that is unclear to me and some things are wrong. Do you mean that Texent is an istari like Gandalf and Saruman? There where only 5 istari and all of them are named. The blue wizards are known in Middle earth as Pallando and Alatar. Gandalf and the rest of the istari came to middle earth in the 3rd age, so Gandalf cannot have been in Dol Guldur when you say he was. You forgot to write down the rules for the elven blade: Desteney 75 points but what makes it so special? Maybe he should be able to take a bow ( he is an elf after all.) I really like the magical power: silver wind, here is my version Sliver Wind Range 24" Dice Roll 4+ Texent casts a mighty gale of wind and blows away anyone in range (apart from allys) Throw a dice to se how many inches the model is blown away. If the lightning spell automatically wounds, there is no need for the strenght 6. I hope you have read everything i wrote, it got a bit long You have a great idea, somethings needs to be changed to get it right. But develop your idea, and I think we will see a pretty cool characther in the future. |

He is thinking of the time in the 3rd age when the white council launch an attack against dol guldur. So wrong date there. I used the highly accurate calculator that does heroes warriors and their special abilities and using the closest rules a could find it would be that his base points would be 185 |

I like te idea of "Sliver Wind" but i think it is too good to be true. And i would think it is fair to say that if it is that strong then allys should suffer some consiquences. As "Knight of Ni" mentioned Sliver Wind Range 24" Dice Roll 4+ Texent casts a mighty gale of wind and blows away anyone in range (apart from allys) Throw a dice to se how many inches the model is blown away. (allys suffer only half penalty) so that when you roll a dice they move only half the distance. I would say it sounds fair. |
