I have been wantin to use Hurscarls for my Dunlending army but as GW never released rules, I made my own based of the Rohan Royal Guard:

Dunlending Hurscarl
Points value: 9

 F     S  D A W  C
4/4  3  5  1  1   3

Wargear: The base profile for a Hurscarl includes heavy armour and a hand weapon. He can be given additional items at the following points cost:

Shield....................1pt
Two-handed weapon...1pt
Throwing Axes..........2pts
Horse....................6pts
Banner..................30pts

Special Rules

Bodyguard: At the beginning of the game choose one Hero of Dunland among those in your force for all your Dunland Hurscarls to protect. As long as this Hero is on the table, the Hurscarls will automatically pass all Courage tests they are required to take. If the Hero is killed or leaves the table, the Hurscarls revert to the normal rules for Courage.

Any ideas or suggestions?
Cheers,

Cyndra the Grey

You might want to add throwing axes.

@ Cyndra the Grey, your SBG profile for the Dunleding Huscarls are exactly the same as the profile and special rule that I wrote, so I say they are very good 8)

Draugluin: I wasn't going to add throwing axes because the heroes can't take them either

GTW: Haha thanks, as they say great minds think alike!

Not all the Rohirrim heros can take throwing spears, but most of their soldiers can.
