Post subject:  High Elves - Blademaster

Inspired by corsair :)

So many armies have troops with two attacks, but not High Elves. So it's time for the High Elf Blademaster. I borrowed from the Twins rules because I think they're simple but very effective.

F/S S D A W C
6/- 3 3 2 1 5

Points: 12
Wargear: A Blademaster is armed with an Elf blade. He may take the following options:
Armor: 1 point
Heavy Armour: 2 points
Throwing Daggers: 2 points

Special Rules:
Blademaster: A Blademaster may decide each Fight phase whether he is going to attack once, attack twice, or parry. If he attacks once he counts as using the blade two-handed, but does not suffer the -1 Fight penalty. If he attacks twice he counts as using the blade one-handed. If he parries he rolls an extra die (3 attack dice) but does not strike any blows if he wins.

It is nice to know that I was the inspiration for this character.

good - the special rule allows different styles of combat depending on the situation.

I think though, that while the blademaster is shielding, he should have 4 attacks not 3.

Yeah because it ways in the rule book that sheilding doubles your attack.

I think

some how blademaster ust does not sound good

Yeah, I know shielding doubles your attacks...if you have a shield. But he doesn't, and doubling his attacks would make him as good at shielding as the Twins. So I thought I'd pull it back a bit.

i do like that its a good profile

That is definitely a good profile for them. The points are fair and the model is worth its points. However, don't the twins still suffer the -1 penaly when they do their two-handed attack?

I think it is good that you have signifigantly lowered the defence of this elf as had he been D4+ his point value would need increasing signifigantly.

I think you should change his 'shielding rule' (name only) to 'parry' (like woodelves)

His stats actually remind me of Corsair reavers (but better)

Yes they do, but in this case I figured if he only gets a normal, single, two-handed attack it wouldn't be worth it.

Good point, I'll edit it. That way there's less confusion between his profile and the normal shielding rules.
