If a spider shoots a balrog it is immediately knocked prone and just a big punching bag And what happens if a mumak get ensnared, we know for a fact it cannot be knocked prone and is immune to magic. Also the spiders could be used to get rid of Dragons really easily by sapping all their fate in this manner. Or even bring Gilgalad to his knees in a couple of shots? Do I understand the rule correctly? Are there serious technicalities here to consider? Also teaming these Spiders up with a fire breathing Dragon is a terrifying combo, web first then fire breath on the same victim |

I don't think that you are missing anything. The real question is about the Mumak, no it is not knocked prone, but it can still be immobilized, so i don't see why it would not suffer the other effects of Paralyse. The real problem is the fincancial cost, as well as the points cost but also the 5+ shots will make it rather unreliable. It is a good tactic though. Some guys from Australia played a Sauron vs Spiders, he obviously got rolled badly. |

I play tested them last night, they killed Beorn, the balrog, an ent and even a dragon. oh and btw the cheapest option is definitely ebob spiders, they fit well and to add to that they 3times cheaper than the official models, though they are a bit fragile |

Funny, when these came out everyone was remarking how they overpriced and powerless... it just takes a different perspective the see the different strengths of models. |

Funny when you consider I was one of the haters... Still think the F2 was an unnecessary nerf, oh and the lowered movement and no climb bonuses. The point of these guys is to put the pain on Heroes and monsters alike, not troops. That is their purpose, they are Devlan Mud against troops though. When possible always use Druzhag |
