Ok, so I have the goblin scribe in play, and I have several questions(and im sure more to come up later). 1-it says you put goblins into play if you pass a courage test for each number past the test + a D3. SO, I roll at 12. Being that its 12+3(initial courage) I get 15 minus the 10 needed meaning I throw 5 goblins into play, + whatever I roll. I roll at 2. So I put 7 into play? Then another question..... It says put them into the side of the board of your choosing. So, can I literally the first round put 7 on the board right behind where my enemy started the game? |

You‘re rolling a D3 so the woll of a 2 only counts as 1. |

yeah any amount over 10 so 15 = 5 goblins and then D3 more so rolling a 2 = 1 more so you get six rather than 7. And yes any side of the board, but i doubt it will do any good. With your enemy's force at full strength 6 goblins are likely to get slaughtered. Hope this helps |

On a D3 divide by 2 and round up, so 1-2=1 3-4=2 5-6=3 Billy |

Oh I guess I just summed it up for you guys I actually rolled a 4 and just calculated. I got ya. Pretty crazy though you can put them anywhere. I see what you were saying dwarf warrior but this game is on a condensed board, and just started. The first couple rounds have passed and the Elves missed wounding all the goblins so far with Legolas, Thranduil, 4 Mirkwood guard elves(2+ to hit for those dont know) and 4 wood elves. NOT ONE WOUND lol. |

How does the scribe work with breaking?Do the extra goblins count? If I'm broken and I use the scribe to bring in extra goblins am I no longer broken? If they dont count isn't it sometimes REALLY hard to find out which ones started on the board sometimes? |

Under the Broken Force section of the rule book it is explained that the Break point is determined by your force total at the start of the game and does not change throughout the game; therfore, you need to calculate the number of pieces you can lose before you are broken and once that many have died then your force is broken. So even if you add goblins with the scribe then your force breaks at the same calculated point from the start of the game. You could start with 20 pieces and after several turns have 30 pieces on the board but if 10 have died throughout the course of the game, time to stand fast & courage test. |

That means spawning weak goblins behind enemy lines will propably just make you reach your breakpoint faster. Which is never good with goblins. |

Oh man thanks for asking that question! Thats the other I wanted to ask and forgot because I started the game and headed to sleep. Thank you! So thats true that it does kind of suck that you can break faster but to be honest, on the board right now, at 500pts, the elves are outnumbered 2 to 1 with guys behind then that can charge in 2 turns in combat in the front line now, and not one casualty from either side has begun. Currently Thranduil and Erestor are locked up with Bert. No combat has actuallly begun, and the game mode is domination. Elves probably wont win. |

If Thranduil channels natures wrath it could hurt the goblins pretty bad if it hits enough of them and none successfully resist... Something to consider. |

the scribe can bring in more than his warband can't he? so if he starts with 8 gobbos in his warband, he can still bring in more than 4 at a time? |

The warband is simply for deployment purposes and his ability is at the end of the move phase. The Scribe could deploy with 12 goblins in his warband and at the end of turn 1 move phase bring in reinforcements. |

Any goblins that come in as a result of the scribe are not considered when making army lists right? As in, say after the first turn of movement where both sides have an equal 500pts on the table, the scribe due to lucky rolls is able to swing in 5 extra goblin warriors on to the board, essentially making the evil side having 520 points now. I guess what I'm asking is the goblins are not treated as reserves right? |

Yes the Goblins are not reserves They do not count in any way before they spawn because they didn't exist lol. Don't over-analyze it |

Can the scribe be his own warband or does it need a hero? |

LordoftheBrownRing wrote: Can the scribe be his own warband or does it need a hero? The Scribe as a hero, as you can tell by the fact that he has a Fate Point, so he must be the leader of his warband. |

I thought so but I got confused when they started talking about his warband. I put him as his own warband..... |
