So me and VictoryGin were discussing potential army lists for his dwarf army, and we were talking about the possibility of adding dwarf rangers to the list when we stumbled across the following problem.

If a model is sculpted with a particular piece of equipment, do you have to run the model as having it, and then pay for it? For example, if he wants to run 12 rangers as the basic profiles with no added equipment, is he allowed to do this, or does he have to equip 4 with longbows, 4 with two handed weapons, and 4 with throwing weapons?

Personally I think that if you explain to your opponent that you're running them as the basic profile then that's fine, but I'd be interested to hear what you have to say.

Some people can be rather dogmatic about WYSIWYG past the point of reason, but this is a pretty clear case.

If there is no way to distinguish between an archer model that has paid for a bow, and another archer model that hasn't paid for a bow then that would be unfairly confusing for your opponent.

The only fair solution, would be to count ALL the Ranger models as being the same. If you do that, then its ok to break WYSIWYG.

Therefore, if you're not using WYSIWYG then each model should use the same profile. Every axeman, 2 hand axeman and archer all count as having the same equipment.
