Just a question if there was such a scenario. If a person allies an army which has a 1/3 archer limitation for example dwarves with an army which do not have an archer limitation like Grey Company (I think that's the only one anyway) take this example army. Balin 24 dwarves Halbarad 24 rangers This would excede the bow limit for the entire force but ,as I recently found out, the 33% archer limitation applies to each allied force seperately. So would this army be legal? Please reply! thx. |

I think that as long as both lists are legal sperately it should be legal because they are technically 2 armies anyway, so as long as the dwarf list is legal you should be good to go. |

It's illegal, The Grey Company do have bow limits but not the generic 1/3, they have their own special rule. In any case, all allies have to be legal as if you were just fielding them alone as an army. |

GC has a normal 33% bow limit *unless* you take 1 Ranger of the North or 1 Dunedain per 4 Rangers of Arnor. The effect of the trade off is your model count drops, especially if you still want larger heroes. |

So if you took Halbarad with 24 other rangers, would there still be a limitation? |

well the GC works something like this 4xDunedain (and for each dunedain you can get one ranger of Arnor), and in this case 16 of them with 4 Dunedains and 2 Rangers of the North you can get 24 Rangers of Arnor... and etc... but this rule does not cover the named heros like Aragorn, Arathor or Halbard but they may still be part of the army as normal |

Isn't that what I said? Yes but I was slightly confused . So basically, you have to have the archer limitation if you don't have a Dunedain for every 4 rangers. |
