I was just wondering but if Halbarad has the banner of Arwen Evenstar, it says he can still use his bow but it dosen't say anything about him not having the unarmed rule when he carries it like BCotWT. This seems a little illogical to me as surely it would be harder to shoot a bow at the normal standard whilst carrying a standard (ha ha) than to fight at the same standard whilst carrying a banner.

As the rules don't specifically excuse Halbarad from the -1 penalty to win the fight when equipped with the banner, in a competitive game he would still have the -1 penalty. However, I expect most players would be lax enough not to mind.

It's a typical GW special rule to make normal rules fit in with models Just follow as written. If you want an excuse then just assume he plants it in the ground before shooting.

Just wondering, does anyone know if it's worth giving Halbarad the banner even with the -1 rule. I'm not going to get him but he may be a future project.

If you are going to be horribly outnumbered then I suggest taking more models. If you thin it is the difference between 10 models or few, I would say take it. All models pass their courage test including the model holding the banner. They also get to re-roll one dice in the fight. That has caused me so many problems. Yes, it is worth taking in a fight.
