I’ve seen a HUGE range of point sizes for matches play around the Internet, so my question is...what’s the ‘standard’ point size most commonly seen on the tabletop? I’ve seen 500, 600, 750... so what do people play OFTEN?

Well this answer won't be of any use to you but... around 500 to 750 points...

In our gaming group the standard is 600pts, but really anything goes. However, 500 to 750 points isn't really that huge a point range.
Even i've your a very rigid army builder (some people make an army list then get/paint just the models for that specific list, whereas most of us just collect whatever takes our fancy for an army) if you collect a 750pt army it should be easy enough to scale it down to 600 or even 500 pts.

I'm sure 500 pages will be standard. I'm not sure. But it is my personal opinion.

Tournaments are played between 500 and 800 pts in Europe.

No single points value is probably used for most games, as in: a majority. There simply is too much variation (which probably helps keep the game fresh, as you may be able to fit in just something different, changing your tactical options and playstyle.) 700-750 at least seems very common - it's big enough to bring some big toys, while still being fairly quick to play. More elite armies don't have much on the table at 500, while hordes can become unmanageable at 1000 (which I've seen pop up quite a few times on the UK tournament scene). 1000 is more common in tournaments spread over two days, as you quite simply need the time per game, and a decent number of games. One-day tournaments may go for 600 instead. But as you have seen in the replies above and indeed your previous observations that prompted this question: it simply varies quite a lot.

I concur. In the GBHL, 500pts to 800pts is typical, occassionally ranging from 350pts to 1000pts.
