So when say Cirion blocks do I roll 4 die to double his attack. Or 3 for plus one.

Ok here's a hypothetical if mounted Boromir charged in and blocked it would be 6 die then?

I don’t think mounted units can shield, but I assume Boromir on foot can shield with 6 dice?

Why would he be shielding if he is charging? (...bit off more than he could chew???)
I don't know if I am reading your question right but, ...you cannot shield if your mounted.

Really you can't shield while mounted .So the shields are just for +1 defense. A stats boost only. Its just a hypothetical if I don't ask it will happen I a game.

You do get the +1 Def. if your guy is not already equipped with a shield.
Furthermore, if you do not have a shield, you cannot shield.

So no shielding when mount is what im asking .And if so when the rider is knocked of his mount the shielding rules go back to normal?
