Elves? Well if you are playing warband then you can take 36 of those troops (each hero may lead 12 warriors). and that is a nice number of elves. I would recommend buying Rumil and Thranduil, they are almost essential to a wood elf force.

But elfs do not have high defense.

when played right, they dont need it. They have a high fight value and the wood elves can use their spears to shield if they are outnumbered.

All that are very good ideas.

Scour the Tactics and Strategy forum, there have been some good threads in the past few months, they should be easy to find. But basically:

- max bows (preferably wood elves)
- lots of spears, especially wood elves...if you shield with the spear, you have a better chance of winning, i.e. not dying until you get reinforced
- I find throwing daggers excellent
- Galadhrim without shields are kind of pointless. Evil shooting is S2 or S4, so D4 is inefficient. It's more efficient against S3 fights, but there are lots of S4 evil warriors, plus a shield lets you...shield.
- consider getting Rumil, and maybe a couple of blisters of Guards to go with him (4 is too few now that pikes can't back up spears). Watching a guard beat a Nazgul or tie a Cave Troll in a fight is pretty sweet.
