I recently ordered a Goblin Captain model from the Hobbit units but I am planning to use it with my LOTR goblins. I wanted to get a different looking one in the army and liked the design etc. So how do you guys think I should use it? If I use it at all. The rules for Hobbit and Lotr are compatable?

Go for it. As long as you tell your opponent which rules he's using, I see no problem with it. After all, they are both Goblin Captains.

The rules are the same (pretty much) for each game, The Hobbit is just the latest version of the rules.

It's fine, as stated above just specify which one it is being fielded as. Moria Goblin Capt or Goblin Town Capt
