OK, so for a SBG/WOTR newbie, I am totally confused about what's going on with the gaming books. I have a Gondor/Fiefdom army and saw a "Gondor in Flames" and "Siege of Gondor" book but do these really need to be purchased or are they included in some newer sourcebook?

Are there any other books with Gondor? Pelennor fields perhaps?

I would only buy those ones if you are feeling nostalgic. They are no longer used for official things but if your gaming club agrees then you could use them. I would just by the kingdoms of men book, that should have everything you need for a gondor fiefdoms list in it.

Yeah, those older expansion books are no longer properly 'recognised' as it were. I myself still flick through them from time to time though - where they prevail over the newer sourcebooks are in areas such as painting tips, scenario guides, 'historical' scenarios and general backstory/history entries.

Pelennor Fields may be useful to you as Dol Amroth was first introduced in that supplement.

Th eonly books you need now are

SBG: The One Rulebook, any of the 5 new sourcebooks you need (Free Peoples, Men Kingdoms, Mordor, Fallen Realms, Moria/Angmar) and possibly a journey book if you enjoy the scenarios.

WotR: The WotR rulebook and Battlehosts.

Don't bother with any of the others.

For War of the Ring, you don't need Battlehosts (the Gondor ones are rather redundant anyway, IRRC). Just the main book will do, so you can get yourself some more mini's!
