Hi guys, not total beginners but with reference to the Great Eagle etc. When it flies over formations they suffer D3 automatic strength 6 hits. Understand D3 - roll and half, but why the strength 6? Do you read off the table against formations defence? Not sure. Would appreciate clarification. Many thanks.

It doesn't say "
Quote:
they suffer D3 automatic strength 6 hits".
It says
Code:
they suffer D3 Strength 6 hits
, it cannot be automatic and Strength 6, it is Strength 6. The swoop attack therefore targets the enemy formation's defence. For example, if the enemy formation is defence 7, you would need 5s to hit.

However, before you do this you need to roll a D3, which will tell you how many Strength 6 hits the enemy will take, eg a roll of a 1 means that the enemy will suffer 1 Strength 6 hit. After which you would then roll 1 D6 against the enemy at strength 6.

Does that help?
