The rule says only 'restores one wound to one friendly model'.

My Sprit of the Law side says: "No,that is bringing someone back from the dead: too powerful, and the makers did not intend it that way."

My Letter of the Law side says: "Yes. Who am I to presume to know the intent of the Makers? Elrond has only 3 will...it is not like he'll be bringing armies back. Ultimately, the rule does not say I can't, so I can."

Verdict?

How could he? As soon as the model loses its last wound it is removed from play, there is no model to cast Renew on.

I agree with hithero. When a single wound warrior or hero dies, it's removed from the table. There's no target for the spell.

Of course, yes. I keep thinking realistically---that the corpse would be there. But a rule says it is not, so it is gone. Question answered; seems so obvious now.
