Wayland games has a Dutch version available for 32 pounds (sorry, don't have a pound key). Probably won't matter if you are only interested in the models, but it may be a problem if you want a copy of the rules as well. Also have an English one for 40, in case GW inflation affects other retailers as well.

I dunno man, I just did a quick run through of some other GW distributers and I don't think you can get it for much less than 40. Maelstrom's was 45 pounds and I don't think MiniWarGaming even had it.

I guess Amazon would be okay, and if you don't mind Dutch, emperor_thompson may have provided the lowest price you'll be able to find.

I suppose this entire post may have just been meaningless. I apologize.

Whether or not you get MoM really depends on what you want. It's a great deal for what you get, but if you are planning on starting a specific army that is non-goblin and that doesn't plan on drawing heavily from the Fellowship then it may be better to look elsewhere.

The MoM rule book is terrific. You will not find all profiles or scenarios but will find all the rules--I take it with me when I play as it is easier to lug around than the big hardback (which I also own). The rules are also stitch-bound rather than glued, making it durable.

If you are interested in re-creating scenarios from LotR then MoM is a great place to start. If you want to just build an army for battling, then MoM may not be the way to go.

As far as cost goes, GW products are nothing if not mind-numbingly expensive. You can occasionally find good deals online, but it's something that everyone faces (and often complains about).

My MoM rulebook began to lose pages about a month after I got it, I had to tape them back in.

My Mom rulebook have never fallen apart. and i have had it for years. i had that problem with my journeybook the two towers. i bought one it started to fall apart i changede it for a new one and it started to fall apart the next day

Perhaps GW is not aiming for durable products.. but perhaps they want some.. money/profit?...

Nah... that can't be true.

I've had my MoM book ever since I first got into SBG. It looks like a nuclear bomb was dropped on it, and it's still in one piece.
