Does anyone know of anyplace that sells LOTR 'Bitz' in the UK? I can't seem to find any online. I'm trying to source about 8 plastic Galadhrim shields for an Elf project I'm working on... You guys on here seem to have such a huge amount of knowledge of this kinda stuff that I thought it best to ask here. Many thanks in advance for any help anyone is able to provide. |

Sadly due to gw policy, your best bet is getting hold of a shield ( galadrim knights maybe)and press mould it, then you may make a many as needed, that what i did with the noldor shields |

I have a question that could easily fit in this topic... I need some left arms holding swords to convert Corsairs of Umbar into Corsair Reavers. Where should I look? |

The uruk hai siege/demolition teams, I buy them very cheaply on ebay and cut off the left hands holding the knives, the uruk hai can then be given a crossbow in the left hand (the xbow on the bgime conversion sprue is perfect). As for the galadhrim shields Grungehog has the answer, buy instant mold (ebay) and make as many shields as you want using green-stuff. If you aren't able to then I'm sure you'll find some1 who can via PM Alternatively ask UKFB, I trade him some all the time because his work is quality |

Thanks. I'll have a go at the insta-mould idea... |

I use instant mold for shields - it works pretty well |

To my knowledge, nobody sells LotR bitz. It has been this way ever since Games Workshop stopped the availability of individual LotR components several years ago. It was to streamline the massive amount of casting going on, plus they thought it would result in more sales as locating missing limbs/weapons became more difficult to obtain, and people would be forced to buy entire replacement minis. Unfortunately for them, rather than buying entire replacement models, it instead just encouraged people to create their own moulds in order to replicate the missing pieces. |

Of course the One Ring does not endorse making moulds of copyright material, since that would be a bit naughty. |

From my limited recollection from my copyright classes back in my music biz days, (which are very hazy) it is only naughty if you try to sell it. There is something called "reasonable use" which means the purchaser can make copies for themselves. Like putting a CD onto a iPod isn't illegal but selling a copied movie is. I'm no lawyer so i could be wrong. Anyway I have trouble finding Bitz here in Australia too so moulding becomes the only real option unless you want to buy more models for parts. |
