As you can see, looks like the brushes are being re-made - if you get me - and theres two more brushes for the range, the stippling and the wash brush.

Whats steppling? Anyway, i use my drybrush for washing, but a new brush for washing will be nice too

Stippling is a technic that you can use to 'paint' textures, for instance. Basicly, you use the tip to poke the paint in the miniature instead of brushing it... or something like that. You don't actually need any fancy brush to do it, but if you use your really good 'old reliable' brush, it won't hold that title for long.
I haven't bought a GW brush for years and never looked back, really. I read somewhere that these new are natural sable hairs so they might be a great improvement to the previous range of brushes. |

I still have a stash of the old red-handled GW brushes, they were fairly decent. I use a Standard brush to do virtually everything, they had excellent tips, and they were all sable. The blue-handled "current range" were part synthetic, and were absolute rubbish. The tips never held out. Sometime after giving up on the blues, I managed to get a set of the GW Master's Series brushes, the ones that came in the wood box, and have wood-lacquered handles. They are awesome. They are Kolinsky sable, and are a match for my W&N Series 7 brushes. They were however $180 Canadian. I did try full synthetics, as the thought of killing a hapless animal never did appeal to me, but the synthetics are just rubbish and last nowhere near as long as a natural brush, well taken care of. I do think of the poor animal every time I go to paint, and make sure I don't abuse my brushes, too. 
I am hoping the new multi-colour brushes are as good as (maybe better?) than the old red-handles, as at some point I am sure I will need a new brush, like maybe in 2012 or 2013. Maybe later.

I have one GW brush, a 'Detail Brush', and it really sucks. It's far too large to paint details with; the smallest thing I paint with it is a cloak... So, I won't buy these brushes, I tend to buy other brushes from hobby shops. |

I know i won't be getting it
you can see that the brush prices in general have increased slightly. Some by 30p and others by 50p. The new wash brush sounds good though, £4 though.

I used to like their old sable brushes, but find the blue handled ones to be nothing special. I use Vallejo sable brushes now for fine detail work and think they're great. I'd be interested in the stippling brish from GW though - could be useful for camouflage patterns and weathering effects. But most of my brushes are synthetic because they don't last very long on terrain or vehicles - it's awfully expensive to replace them with sable brushes every few months. |

They're significantly cheaper in the US! Fine detail, standard, stippling and drybrushes are all $1.75 cheaper. the old ones cost $8, these ones cost ~$5.25 Sorry Brits

Exhuming this topic to say that I got some of these today and they're pretty damn cool. I'll be trying them out tonight. You gotta pick through them in the brush rack though, make sure you get one with a proper point - some of them have a bent or erroneously long bristle. |
