Why is that exactly? Maybe they use the cheapest, most fragile packaging possible...

It's an extra discount. For students. In the UK.

Does that make it less confusing for you?

I never said that they did do that.

I was merely pointing out that free postage is not a prerequisite to great service.

Gaming Figures are cheaper and I have had no problems with their timeliness, service or packaging. Megaminis are cheaper too, though I have not (yet) tried ordering anything through them.

ok. fair enough. however, people are drawn to free postage and packaging offers IMO. There are places where you save money, and then basically 'lose' it when the P&P is added. XD

Hello guys

We've noticed a number of hits to our website from this forum over the last few days so I thought I'd check it out and see what all the fuss is about!

My name is Mark Allan and I am sales manager at thebattleshop.co.uk

Firstly, to clear up the whole shipping issue, yes we do offer free shipping on orders within the UK and Europe and no, we don't just wrap orders in tissue paper to compensate!
We used padded postal envelopes for orders consisting of one item and pack anything larger in boxes with plenty of packing tape! We have very, very few complaints from customers about orders being received in less than perfect condition and when we do, we offer refunds or replacements as any good retailer should.

If any forum member would like to try our service out, my boss has allowed me to offer you guys at One-Ring.co.uk an extra discount to sweeten the deal a bit.

For the month of June only, any forum member from this website can get a 20% discount from RRP when spending over £35 in a single order. We try and monitor the online competition and I do think you'll be hard pressed to find anyone else offering anything cheaper than 20% off and free shipping!

All you have to do to get this extra discount is shop as usual on our website, but when you get to the checkout page, in the "please enter your voucher code" box at the top, enter the word 'onering' and click submit. You should then see a pop-up confirming your login was successful. Refresh the checkout page and voila! Your extra discount will be deducted from your order!

If anybody has any questions by all means get in touch!

Nice one.

I'm considering casting doubt on all online retailers now to see what other goodies we can get!

:P

Edit - order placed.

Wow Mark, that is an exceptionally generous offer. Thank you very much for extending it to our members - I am sure there will be a lot of people here who can take advantage of it.

I will take the liberty of posting a news item about it on our home page.

Thanks again (and thank the boss for us too - Mrs Allan?)

Haha, fortunately not! Mrs Allan couldn't tell you the difference between an Orc and an Elf and I'm happy to keep it that way!

Thanks to everyone who has placed an order thus far - they're all being worked on as I type and so will be with you guys within a week.

Well, the first part of my order arrived today...

No complaints whatsoever with the packaging. One box was slightly bashed, but all the contents were fine, and you can't argue with free dice. Even if they are green and elfy coloured.

Let's hope the second part arrives swiftly.

Well, second part of the order arrived today.

Post-dated 6 days AFTER the email that told me it had been sent separately.

Also, kinda strange that it didn't come in the standard packaging, but rather a plastic tray in a plain white Citadel box.

And I think the postman had had his thumb through it. No contents damage though.

So is this a thumbs up or down for the battle store? Personally I hate long waits for my minis.
