Post subject:  Amazing Products

I thought I would start a post much like Members Real Names

The purpose of this one, is that although we have this thread and the links section (which to be honest, we struggle to keep on top of), I thought it would be a good idea to have one thread, that shows links to certain websites, plus an image of what they have, that offer a unique or high quality product.

Therefore, if you know of any Website that offers a unique item for the hobby, please post it here, and I will make a link in the initial post, thus having a 'One Stop' post of Amazing Products' !

Antenocitis

01. NOCH Wild Grass Matting.
LINK
8mm grass matting. Ideal for longer grass areas and clumps of long grass. The matting can be cut into small sections to represent clumps of grass, weeds, and so forth, or laid as a tall meadow grass. The 8mm Wild Grass matting is ideal for covering over Hobbit Holes, large areas of long grass and can also be torn or cut into strips or clumps to represent long grass for road borders and so forth- its ideal for large areas of such cover and saves invaluable time.
Image
Overall: A fantastic product, albeit quite expensive for the average Hobbyist !

02. Fine Leaves.
LINK
Easily applied to Vine Stems or Dungeon Creepers or simply dusted over trails of glue (easy to do using the Pin-Point Glue Syringes in our tools section) as shown on the image below. Four different colours to chose from and they also make wonderful pond plant leaves and can be used on figure bases as fallen leaves or yellow or cherry blossom.
ImageImageImageImageImage
Overall: These leaves are 'tiny'. Fantastic for applying to trees for leaves or just general foliage..worth every penny !

03. Fine Talus.
LINK
"Talus" otherwise know as "Ballast" or scatter, rubble rocks and similar. Our Talus comes from Green Scene and is made from ground nuts to produce a very regular sized lightweight but solid material. The fine Talus is very regular and ideal for using on figure bases
Image
Overall: A lot of Newcomers get confused whilst basing their miniatures with the products available, mainly from GW. This product is 'finer' and far superior to any product I have come across, and offers excellent, minute detail to basing ... worth its weight in gold!.

04. Tree Formers "Forest in a Box" (Sea Foam).
LINK
"Seafoam" is a totally natural product that makes for the best looking custom trees possible. There is no competition to the visually stunning trees you can create with these formers.
This product uses a natural plant material to create stunning trees easily and simply. The "tree" can be used either "as is" or sprayed with adhesive and covered with fine grade scatter/foliage material. There is sufficient material to produce approximately 20-24 trees. Literally a 'Forest in a Box'!

ImageImageImage
Overall: This item is very fragile, but if used correctly, creates some amazing trees, bushes and hedges. Very easy to use.

05. Rubberised Horsehair.
LINK
It is, literally, rubberised horse hair and is a very tough and durable material - cut it up and cover with scatter material for trees or hedges.

Thomarillion.

They make some terrain pieces that can be useful for Middle-earth purposes, as well as wider ranges maybe more suited to other fantasy games, sci-fi games and even WW2/steam-punk games.
Middle-earth examples:

For amazing large models of the Argonath statues

Long delivery times, but worth the wait

The Spaniards have delivered again, this time with some fantastic scenery pieces. The "Medieval Tower" would be perfect for Gondor/Arnor. There are also dwarven pillars and a great dwarf statue that would be perfect for Durin's halls.

The Dwarven statues are great, my friend uses them for his Moria ruin terrain.

Tired of defending the peasants? maybe some animal shaped tokens for your next raid? Warlord Games has an entire farm available for your modeling pleasure.

Yes, they may be a touch expensive, but most others are made of metal and would cost twice this much. Plus, they're adorable. I always enjoy sneaking a cat or mouse in a project and seeing the surprise on friends' faces when they see that extra level of detail.

Just five sprues will get you all the cats you'll need for Queen Beruthiel! ;) It certainly is a nice set though, good variety of animals and great level of detail too looking at those pictures.

Actually, I've always thought of the queen as having hunting cats. I'm not really sure, though, I haven't read about her. There are some killer cat models here:

Oh, and while we're at it, a new ent to stomp around your table:

He is kind of static, but I guess no more so than Treebeard. I just love that face and crown of canopy.

Sad GW hasn't made a giant scary bat for your Gundabad army? Check out this guy, and check out his massive size! Gwahair better call in reinforcements...

This is probably more appropriate for Frostgrave, but some of the items might be LoTR appropriate. The dragon's Horde could work very well in Erebor.

Is your Helms Deep missing that special something? Check out this statue that could well depict a warrior from another age of Rohan. As an interesting aside, it's been said that Helm Hammerhand never actually wielded a hammer.

Do you need an army to represent Men of another Age? I'm not sure who these guys could be, maybe alternate men of Dale? the enemies of Rohan? I like them, though, even the zombie peasants that have nothing to do with LoTR.

Are you looking for spiders and other creepy crawlers? Do you have spiders on regular small "man-sized" bases and really want to represent the big ol' Mirkwood spiders without the price?

First of all it's Halloween Month, the best month of the year (nevermind Christmas)! Walmart has some creepy crawlies in horrible bright colours, but that can be remedied. There are spiders and snakes and I think bats. The price isn't bad for these guys and can be used in Frostgrave: Ghost Archipelego on the cheap as well.

Secondly, I've been eyeing up the baboon spiders from Dark Fable Miniatures out of the UK. These guys look pretty good and will probably be my go-to for MESBG and Frostgrave, though I will probably get some Walmart creepy crawlies for the FLGS, as I want to start a Frostgrave night. These guys have some pretty neat Egyptians if that's your thing and last year had a nice Black Friday sale.

Thirdly, the solution to your mini spiders, the three-man base from Warlord Games. Made for the Test of Honour game, you get 5 of them for $10 USD. They would also be really handy for your war machine crew. Just place 3 spiders on these removable slots and voila! instant Mirkwood representation! Lots of fun for those not intending to field Mirkwood spiders in a tourney.

Do you need objectives for rescue or theft? Is your brave Fellowship tired of sleeping on the cold ground? Mantic Games continues to expand it's Terrain Crate line with "Hunter's Camp". http://www.manticgames.com/mantic-shop/terrain-crate/fantasy-terrain/small-sets/product/hunters-camp.html

A nice little set by itself, or you can buy multiples with a few different tents and other goodies if you buy the large set or the crate. The Terrain Crate line is scaleable with your wallet. The small sets, like the one mentioned above, start at 7.99 GBP, large sets are 24.99 GBP and the crate is 59.99 GBP.

Yet more amazing goodies, this time from Reaper. This dropped just today, it's the Mystic Circle, AKA, Stonehenge. http://www.reapermini.com I'm guessing the intact trilithon is 2" tall, based on other photos. Something to be found in many parts of Middle Earth, from the elven glades to even Mordor if it was painted black basalt.

This is made of Bonesium, Reaper's special blend of plastic. It's touted to be nigh indestructible, and I haven't managed to destroy a Bones mini, so I'll wholeheartedly endorse that statement. Bonesium is somewhat rubbery, but on a big, thick cast like this, you won't notice. Bones minis paint up nicely, not as nice as metal, but the price and durability makes up for it, especially if you want something for your gaming group to abuse. Just don't spray them with anything containing propellant, it'll destroy the plastic. Reaper offers free shipping and a free monthly mini if you spend $40 USD within N America. They have also recently launched a UK site.

Not really amazing - but very cost effective. Rather than buying basing material from gw or other gaming stores, just a reminder to go to a general craft store like Michaels. They have ash stone granules in various colors (tan and rust at my store) -28oz for $4. Great for adding textures to bases.

Also in their spring tiny treasures you can find some nice tree sets - use a coupon or watch their sales.
