I actually went on a LOTR blitz and picked up Monopoly, Risk, Trivial Pursuit and Stratego, as my old copies were just about burned out or missing bits anyway. Having a LOTR themed Monopoly set got my kids (who had previously given it a big yawn) involved and has kept their interest. Having the ring option to finish the game gives them a goal line not normally present, and helps tie things up before bed... Artwork on all the sets has been uniformly good and presentation as well. |

It's an optional rule in the LOTR Monopoly version where you can have the ring travel around the board from Bag End to Mount Doom, one square at a time when the Eye of Sauron is rolled on the special dice. When it gets to Mount Doom the game finishes. |

That sounds wicked, monopoly normally takes longer than a lotr battle |

It certainly is a good idea and makes the game more enjoyable for children, or just so you can run a quick game if that's all the time you have. I remember playing Monopoly with my cousin when I was younger and we had games that literally lasted a day or more... Little Empire builders that we were! |

I got it last xmas and was chuffed to bits. The ring option really makes a difference and stops it getting borring. I also love the fact I can own both bag end and bar-dur!! |
