I've been working on this for a while. I couldn't get to the point where considered it finished, but this is now complete.
The figures are all Galloping Major sculpts, part of their "Settlers" line.
Painted by Aaron of Pennsyltucky, who is an outstanding figure painter

I did all of the terrain, including the fencing. The thicket was made from rubberized horse hair, using the method described in my Thicket Tutorial.
The fence began life as a Lemax fence, that I took apart and reworked.
The tree stumps are a model RR product from Ebay.

I took a few fun pix with some attacking Indians, that I'll post later.

Terrain looks amazing!
Models are too small for my eyesight, plus I'm rooting for the indians, so gonna wait for the next batch of pictures :P

Clik on the pix, they will enlarge so that you can see better.
These are 28 mm figures, same size as LOTR figures.

Is this the American Civil War? I like them, certainly something different to paint. I have a soft spot for the French Indian Wars; I guess because we studied it in school a bit and they have some great models in canoes.

Question: Where do you get the horsehair from? I've been wanting some for a while to do Arnor/Angmar and Mordor boards, but the only supplier I found is in the UK.

I bought the horsehair on the internet, from an upholstery store.
It came in a huge sheet.......... 4 x 6!!! and cost about 30 bucks.

Honestly, it's very similar to rigid furnace filters that you can buy for a few dollars at Home Depot. Not the filters with a cardboard housing, but the ones with a very rigid plastic backing. For our purposes, it's the same stuff.

Actually, this piece is for the French and Indian War.
