Just received my copy of this fantastic figure. 54mm sculpted by the highly talented French sculptor Olivier Bouchet. His blog is definately worth a visit. http://ob-sculptures.blogspot.co.uk Probably the finest cast I've ever seen, full of detail and no imperfections. I will be slowly painting this up for a CMON competition, though I admit it is more for the taking part, no chance of winning. Also, this will be my first non LOTR figure and I'm looking forward to the challenge. |

You are always helping to push people on here, I know you will do the best you can do, which is a heck of a lot. Regardless of how it votes out, it will be a model worth showcasing for sure. Good luck. |

Very kind of you to say, thank you. I do believe in trying to give people pointers were I can, otherwise, how will anyone improve if all they get is ' looks brilliant, the best I've seen ' when the truth is some way off. Im finding CMON is good for feedback, you do have too get involved on the site, giving your own ideas and that way people seem more willing to comment on yours. Some of the feedback has been exceptional advice and I look to pass that on when I can. |

Just a little update to anyone not following my blog. I'm working hard on this at present and I'm slowly getting there. |

Wow mate! This is fantastic! Some really life-like coloration in the skin and the expression you've worked into that face is exceptional. This is going to be phenomenal when it's finished! |

Thanks Paul, I will have to get that tutorial worked on soon. However I have other plans and next week starts the building of my own workstation. I feel like a little kid waiting for it to happen. |

all that flesh on a larger mini, looks like a pain in the butt. Coming along well though. Good luck with the workstation. |

One bit ofconstructive criticism regarding shadows is that there are also flecks of brownish purple in the shadow of flesh, not just cool purples. Red, a touch of blue and a touch of burnt sienna would give a warm shadow colour alongside the purple as I find purple can look a little too cool. Glazing over with a warmer mix (more red, less blue) can work wonders but it is down to personal taste! |

Stunning, the tartan is superb, I find free hand painting like that impossible, so hats off to you on a great effect |

The skin isn't 100% finished and will have some tweaks in the darker parts to help create some depth. My personal choice is a dark blue glaze followed by a purple Harfoot wrote: Stunning, the tartan is superb, I find free hand painting like that impossible, so hats off to you on a great effect Paul, it takes a steady stroke but this is my first attempt and I'm sure you can do it justice. Beautiful work on this. The tartan is very well done and the NMM is first class. Can't wait to see the finished product. |

Grungehog wrote: the only thing I don't like is the position of the sword like that, that aside A* I couldn't do much about that as it was a set pose and I didn't fancy my chances at converting it. I have managed to sort my uploading issues so I have the full versions on my blog. The voting is going well though I still need 24 votes for the 50. http://www.coolminiornot.com/375948 |

This came up an absolute treat. Really beautiful work. The tartan is first class as is the NMM. The photo on CMoN doesn't do it justice, but I know the feeling about struggling to get decent photos of minis! Well done |
