I doubt that this thread will last very long as I don't paint or play with many other miniature games besides LotR. Anyway, I was in the basement of our house(where I do all my painting, and gaming) and I came across my Dads old Dungeons and Dragons mini's. He said I could paint most of them, but there are a few that he doesn't want me to paint. So here is one of the ones that I've started. I have to say I'm really enjoying painting it. I think it's nice to occasionally paint something a little different than you would normally paint, and this is a lot different than what I'm used to. I've also done some experimented a bit on it, especially with the eyes. I tried to make them look like they were glowing, but I'm not sure that's really what it looks like. So what do you guys think? good? Bad? If you've got any suggestions, or comments, please tell me . -PoW |

Nice work but the eyes aren't working for me. I think if you paint the eyes as normal and then pick the colour of glow that you want to use i.e. yellow - then heavily water this down and gradually apply several layers of glazing to create a glow. I haven't done it myself but I that is my best guess and may be worth a try. |

Okay, I might give that a shot. I think I will leave them as they are for now, until I can get a better paint brush, cause the one I'm using now is really bad. Just a quick question if I do do it the way you suggested. By saying paint the eyes as normal, should I include the pupils too? Thanks! |

I did a little more work on the lady knight thing, and I also started on another D&D mini, a giant. Here are some pics of them. Hope you all like 'em! -PoW |

Well I haven't done to much more painting besides my lotr stuff, so I decided to post a few pics of my Pirates CSG fleet. The game itself is quite nice. It's very similar to SBG IMO, and lots of fun. I would recommend you guys try it, but the game got discontined a few years ago sadly Hope you like them -Pow |

Sticky Fingersss wrote: Looks cool, although arn't they really brittle? They aren't really brittle, but do break easily if your not careful. The newer design for the mast made sure that it was a lot harder to break though. |

Nice. Drawing like this will help your freehand skills. On another note, I'd love to know how to link all your photos in this way. I am completely dumbfounded on how to do it. I'm using a MacBook. |

Hey, Mally. I think the forum software did it automatically because all the images are the same width and he didn't leave any spaces between the URLs. You could also stitch several photos together in just about any photo editing software. I'm a Mac user as well, and I use a program called Pixelmator from the App store. |

That's a lot of drawing! Anime is not really my thing but I know talent when I see it. Nicely done! |

Thank you guys! Anime is definitely different and takes some getting used to, but as you can see, I've come to really enjoy it. Gandalf the Grey, sorry for the late reply, been busy. But Erunion is 100% correct. I use a macbook too, but I haven't looked into linking my photos before, but I could try and figure it out if you're still having trouble. -PoW |

Ok, here's another drawing update. A few of these I did a while ago, and the last one I just finished last week. Alphonse Elric from Fullmetal Alchemist Kija from Yona of the Dawn (with background) Hak from Yona of the Dawn Zeno from Yona of the Dawn Soo-Won from Yona of the Dawn Naruto from Naruto Happy From Fairy Tail. This one I did mostly because I needed to do something easy to take a quick break from Yona (below) and because he's one of my favorite characters from the show. And Yona from Yona of the Dawn This last one took me FOREVER! But I think it was worth it. It was lots of fun, and I learned a lot at the same time. Also, I went through the previous post with pictures and added the character's names and what show they are from incase anyone is curious. Thanks for looking! P.S. Gandalf the Grey, if you're still looking for a way to stitch your photos together, give this website a try. http://www.fotor.com/features/photo-stitch.html It's free and works well for me, hopefully it works for you if you still need it. -PoW |
