It depends, if your an artist then they are not so great, but if your new to drawing then they are very very good. I'm not an expert, but I have been learning to draw over the last couple of years and these pics look just like the ones I was drawing when I started. You obviously have a good eye for art and some skills. What you need to do now... Look at some pics of the human skeleton and copy as closely as you can. Do this from the front, sides and back a couple of times each. then look at the joints and skull more closely an do some larger up close pics. Next, start drawing naked body builders. as gay as this sounds it really is the only way to get a grasp of how muscles fit on to the body. It's easy to draw a bicep and tricep on an arm, but when an arm is bent and flexed, or twisted the muscles change shape. Now you can start looking at other body shapes and seeing how fat gets deposited round the body. Look how and where older people start to stoop and wrinkle. When you are ready you can start adding clothes. But even when you do, you should still always draw the naked body first with a hard pencil like a 2h, then draw the clothes over the top with a hb. Draw quickly. You get better by filling up a book of quick basic shapes rather than a few detailed pics what take up all your time. Wow, I really did drag on. wow! well that sure helped me! i never knew where to start so i was just randomly drawing eveythig, i wasnt pleased with any of them so i threw them out

cool. well post some more up when you start. There are a few good books, but i find it better to pick up a clothes catalogue and quickly draw all the people rather than buying books |

You're doing well there KingEarnur. Your proportions are good and the composition of the images are good also. You look like you're getting a handle on shading and light as well - good stuff. Keep up the good work and post some new stuff whenever you can! The thing with drawing is that you WILL get better with practice. And try experimenting too, perhaps use a few different grades of pencil. When I'm drawing, I use anything from a 6H through to a 9B (yes, a 9B), but mostly between 2H and 6B. |

Thanks guys for the compliments and advice I realy appreciate it:) Oh and Legolas6 I sorta ment to make it look more like an ax because in the book the easternlings had battle axes Here is a dodle of a stare wars clone I did

Your clone is atheistically pleasing to the eye and your shadow effect is very well executed. You have the basic skills and have the potential to become a good artist. Manofkent's advice is definately worth taking, I tend to favour drawing landscapes, objects and animals but drawing skeletons was how I got proportions correct for sketching people and animals. Once you are confident with pencil sketches you should branch out into another medium. Pastels are great for getting better shading and colours or you could start using paints. Good luck with your next sketches and drawings. |

Drawing can take ages to improve just don't give up. It's lots of work but it sure can be rewarding. Always try not being to hard on yourself, you might get depressed from it.  Try to draw using pictures and objects. ( as a start.) - then go over to real living things. I used to draw on the train sometimes ( lately i just read the lotr again because some of them were really angry lol.) Might still start over. But it really helps alot i think my drawing faces has improved alot by that. Real animals are fun to draw to. Start with things or people that don't move to much. Reading people, cows,...
Don't be afraid if it's not good from the first time. It takes a while to get it right. And they move alot - but they mostly return to the same position if you wait patiently. I like to do drawings out of my head - but those are more cartoony. But you can try out a lot in there to. Using geometrical shapes to create figures. Look at the old guy from "up". He has a square head. Good luck.

Thanks for all the advice guys it realy encourages me to sketch more and work harder at it. And garmenhorde Your great at sketching  Here is a sketch of a space marine I did recently tell me what you think.

Man I haven't been on here in ages, well I haven't sketched in a while but I just started up again and I have been doing a lot of figures and a few life drawings but I haven't really taken any pictures of them. Here are a few more recent sketches I did, tell me what you think
