POW! Super close up of 28 mm high elf mage, gotta love those 10 megapixels.

God plastic is sweet, so easy to work with compared to metal. A special thanks to Wade (White tower of echtelion) for the trade, I was like a kid on christmas unpacking those elves.

I can barely believe you can put this amount of detail on such a small piece of plastic.

Gentlemen, I thank you, you're words are as always very encouraging.

Sorry Dorth, I promise I will eventually fall back into my old ways with the true game. But WH is actually alot of fun to paint, and I recommend it to any painter, if only for a change. Larger surfaces and more variety in terms of jewellery, gems etc. makes good practise. At least I'm keeping the infection isolated in this one forum!

Cheers. Yea, wet blending is essential, you can only get so far with ordinary layering, and it will never look particularly smooth.

Couldn't you write an article about wet blending for O-R? You make it look so good, and I really want to learn how to wet blend.

Hmm, I would disagree slightly. It all depends on your abilities really, but Wiktor uses layering and gets better blends than a lot of people who wet blend. I wet blend myself sometimes, but in all honesty its nothing I couldn't achieve with tons of layers.

Oh, by the way the blue on that mini and the face are bloody brilliant!

Anyone ever tried oil paints? I'm experimenting with it and it makes blending a lot more fun to do.

Hallpers: I'm sceptical, I kind of consider myself retired from article writing..hm.
Darkwind: Agree to disagree

I don't like the sharpness of layering, but everyone has their preferences of course.
Lord of Glamorgarth: I've definitely thought about it, but couldn't figure out how it would work in practise since oil paints generally needs 6 months to dry entriely before you can even apply varnish. Also, they're so thick, even if you have the ones that are dilutable with water...let me know how it works out for you tho!

Hey, I need some opinions on the base of my High elf hero. I got some critque on it by some people at CMoN, but was a bit taken aback as I was very pleased with it, what do you think?

Hmm, well, in my opinion, the base really don't fit with the paintjob. Don't get me wrong, both the base and the miniature are amazing, it's just that that they don't fit together as well as they could.

Argh, I'm divided. Anyway. I'm pretty sure the miniature will never be removed from the base, I sure stuck him in there, would probably break if I tried.

its torture . . . i look at my best mini and it doesent come close to anything like yours . . . and i mean nowhere near.
could you try and give us a little explanation on wetblending?
and what colours do you use for faces . . . it would be good for my wood elves.

anyway great painting and keep up the good . . . or should i say awesome work

The freehand is gorgeous work. Freehand star scapes seem to be a real specialty of yours. I particularly like the crescent moon.
