Hi! I am a new to ME SBG. When picking an army, I decided to try Dol Guldur with the Necromancer and a bunch of of Nazgul (6 for 700 pts, for example).

I've played 5 games so far (4 different scenarios) and lost all of them (2 or 3 were close call, at least). I thought that I'm doing something wrong, tried to find a guide as I do in other wargames, and apparently there is no guide about Dol Guldur on this forum.

Can anyone point towards this faction's tactica article or something? Or possibly explain in this thread, how a Nwcromancer + Nasgul list is supposed to be played?

So far, scoring objectives is very hard, and the Necromancer seems extremly vulnerable in close combat.

Hey Aranei, welcome to the forum! You've pick a rather obscure army as your first and a very difficult unit selection on top of that. I am not supersized there isn't a tactics discussion for running what you've described. Check out this video on Youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rz27VUNpNCM It is for the older edition but the faction is till quite similar so it should still be useful. You might try reddit's ME:SBG page to see if there is anything there too.

This blogger does a lot of tactics, you might find something there

Tough, list, and honestly, its hard game. Rules are simple enough but there's so much nuance, which makes it cool but can be steep learning curve.

I've been thinking about running Dol guldur too, probably allied with Azogs legion and or hunters. The hunters have a lot of potential, you get a ton of great troop choices, great selection of heroes and stuff too.
I would recommend running a hefty chunk of orcs something like this at 700, sorta average game.

29 Warriors, 699 Points

Hunter orc captain on warg

Fell Warg x2
Gundabad Orc Warrior: Heavy Armour, Shield, Spear, Sword, x2
Hunter Orc: Armour, x5
Hunter Orc: Armour, x3

The Lingering Shadow: Armour, Sword

Fell Warg
Hunter Orc: Armour, x3
Hunter Orc: Armour, x5

The Necromancer of Dol Guldur: Leader (Legend)

Gundabad Orc Warrior: Banner, Heavy Armour, Shield, Spear, Sword, Warrior
Hunter Orc: Armour, Orc, Sword, War Horn
Hunter Orc: Armour, x5
Fell Warg: Claws and Teeth
Mirkwood Spider: Spider, Venomous Fangs

29 Warriors, 699 Points, 6 Bow
