Hi guys, thinking of taking this to a tourney coming up, which list seems more fluffy? is there anything that would work better from a fluff perspective? I know, I know; hobbits would be better, but unfortunately I don't have any the main objective is to have Gandalf in cart and an army with a 475pts limit. Thanks for any advice.

I'm so torn, the stormcaller adds the ability to knock around the enemy and restore any lost will from immobilises and other spells from both Gandalf and Gildor. On the other hand the rangers bring some much needed strength 4 and the extra might points mean more flexibility on the battlefield.

the proplem with your armys is that you are lacking the numbers to support a army that is 600 pts. usng a huge point hero you need to have somthing that is cheap to justify the cost eg hobbits. gondor does this very well as well since they have 3 cheap hero's.

i dont see the fluff with the two armys you put up as well so care to explain on that one

Okay I'll add some much needed context to this thread lol. The armies are written to hopefully participate in the up and coming "Fireworks in Rivenstead" tournament. Thus my desire to take Gandalf in cart, although terribly expensive at 475pts I like the idea of it coming to an event named this lol.
The "fluff" behind the lists is Gandalf getting attacked on the road to the shire, thus why he is 'late'; much like the scenario Fiends and Fireworks. I just thought of the people that lurk on the outskirts of the shire that may be able to assist Gandalf in his time of need.



Quite okay, Some good suggestions and I could see Minas Tirith as a good support for Gandalf. My thoughts on the few model count is that at 475pts the armies could be potentially quite elite anyway.

ok i see now. i have messed with a few army ideas and the only one that gives more troops with out being hobbits and being what the fluff u wanted was halbarad 4 rangers of the north and 12 rangers every one with a spear but that army is similar with the one you all ready proposed so go with that one for the fluff.

the problem mainly is that Gandalf is a very high costing guy to field
