Hi everybody! Some years ago, I started LotR SBG together with a friend of mine, but he quited the hobby . Some days ago, he started to paint again and was more interested in the game. So I want to play against him again, however, I dont know, how I can make a strong army for him with his old minis. He owns the following minis: 24 warriors of Minas Tirith 24 rangers of Gondor 1 banner bearer of Minas Tirith 1 Captain of Minas Tirith Faramir ft Aragorn Elesar mtd & ft 1 bolt thrower 19 high elves (8 bows, 8 elven blades, 3 shield and spear) 1 high elve banner bearer 1 high elve captain heroes of the west 1 Ent Proxies are okay and you dont have to follow the warband/bow-limit rule that strict (but it would be nice, if the army is legal). Please show me some low point armies (not more than 500 pts.) that he can creat with his minis. Thank you very much, Cheers, Badner |

He has plenty of models there that he could make good armies out of. Is the Faramir the ranger version or the armoured version? He's a basic 500 point minas tirith list using the models he already owns. FORCES OF GOOD Minas Tirith ---- Warband 1 8/12 Captain of Minas Tirith with Shield; 4 Warrior of Minas Tirith with Shield; Spear; 3 Warrior of Minas Tirith with Shield; 1 Warrior of Minas Tirith with Banner; ---- Warband 2 10/12 Faramir, Captain of Gondor with Bow; 10 Ranger of Gondor ---- Warband 3 11/12 Captain of Minas Tirith with Shield; 4 Warrior of Minas Tirith with Shield; Spear; 4 Warrior of Minas Tirith with Shield; 1 Avenger Bolt Thrower ---- Total points 495 Total Units 31 I've made a couple of assumptions here, that he'd prefer the rangers as his archers rather than warriors of Minas Tirith and that the Faramir model is the ranger version. Also, I've led the second Minas tirith warriors with a second captain, that he won't have a model for now a proxy or basic conversion of one of his plastic warriors of Minas Tirith would be suitable to get playing! I've left out the elves because I'm not a fan of allied lists, and aragorn the king is a bit too expensive to play in 500 points! |

Thank you for your help. The Faramir is the armoured one from the heroes of the west box. What would be a good and cheap (money, not points) addition to this army? I am not sure if it wouldn't be better to start with a smaller army (350/400pts.). What do you think about this army?: Faramir with lance, armoured horse, heavy armour 6 warriors of minas tirith with shield and spear 6 warriors of minas tirith with shield Captain of minas tirith with shield 2 warriors of minas tirith with shield and spear 2 warriors of minas tirith with shield 8 rangers of Gondor Total: 350 Pts. |

Generally, most models from the early issues of Battle Games in Middle Earth are modestly priced on ebay. If you want to use proxies, there is a whole topic on suggested models. |

Okay, which minis would you say are most needed? Or should we just play some games before? |
