Warband 1=170pts
Captain of Dol Amroth
Lance
Armoured horse

5 Knights of Dol amroth
5 x Armoured horses
5 x lances

Warband 2=127pts
Angbor the Fearless

9 x Clansmen of Lamedon

This will be my first real lord of the rings force and I just wondered if it seemed alright. I am worried that the numbers are a bit low and that I don't have any bows. Also what would you recommend me buying to expand the force? I'm new to the forum so if this is in the wrong section or something sorry! Thanks in advance :)

No bows or spears, and pretty low numbers. It's kind of hard to include elites like mounted SKoDA in that few points. Still it might be fun. Just hope you don't face a cheap Moria force, with 3 captains leading 36 goblins :)

I disagree. On these low points levels SKoDA's kick ass. I would, however, go for a full mounted force.

At 300 points there not exactly a huge amount you can do with the elite skoda...
For larger games you need some bows in the form of blackroot vale archers and duinhir which can be a menace to monsters with their special rules. A phalanx of Knights supported by men at arms will be needed as well and definitely Imrahil for a combat beast.

So you guys are suggesting that I take out the knights and change them for something like men at arms of dol amroth or axemen of Lossarnach? With maybe some blackroot vale archers thrown in?

At this points level, my gut instinct would be to go all or nothing. If you include Knights, then you're always going to have a numbers problem - so you might as well just take every Knight you can for the points and make speed and charging your advantage. Your foot troops are just going to get bogged down.

Looks like a great little beginner force. The fiefdoms are full of character and so is this list. Yeah it's definitely a small force but very elite. As long as you can pick your fights and not get horribly outnumbered then you should be able to do quite well with it.

Thanks for all the replies! So the message i'm getting is either go all cavalry or none at this points. So what if I exchanged some of the knights for some blackroot vale archers with spears? Or maybe some axemen of Lossarnach?

yea clansmen although good with their profile, there kinda low defence and they will be mob down by shooting and melee is kinda dangerous they wont survive through attricion, much less mobbed.
Or you go all knights on horse or least make the footslog shooting type or hard melee killing ones, like KoDM on foot...

Blackroot archers cannot take spears ;) I would stay away from cav, but think about taking foot skoda backed up with either axemen or men at arms.
