Here is my 300 point Moria List, Here's what I have to choose from (2 Shamen, 3 Captains, 60+ Moria Goblins, A Cave Troll, 6 Wild Wargs, Goblin Drum, Watcher, Balrog, Durburz, Goblin Drum).

I will be fighting Elves in this battle, probably led by Galadriel (Protectress), Legolas, Thranduil, or Haldir (Most Likely Legolas and Haldir)

All that to ask which of these two lists would anyone recommend? Or any alterations. This will be a strictly to the death battle on a 36" square board.

List 1:

Warband 1
Durburz
12 Moria Goblins (6 w Spear)

Warband 2
Goblin Shaman
12 Moria Goblins

Warband 3
Goblin Shaman
12 Moria Goblins

300 Points
3 might (as the Shamen will spend theirs casting channelled fury)
Model Count 39
Advantage of this list: Sheer weight of numbers against the Elves (which will be needed) and the Channelled Fury should avg out to 1/3 of all kills negated making the total number of Goblins about as effective as there being 52 of them.

List 2

Warband 1
Durburz
12 Moria Goblins

Warband 2
Goblin Captain
Cave Troll

Warband 3
Goblin Shaman
7 Moria Goblins

Total 301 Points
23 Models
5 Might (again the Shaman will be popping Fury immediately with his)

Advantage of this list: 19 standard Goblins is a bit low but the fury saves should help them make it in close. 5 Might to help boost the army, and the troll for muscle and brutal power.

From what you have I’d go with the first list.

I would also go for the first list. The cavetroll is just to expensive in a 300pts army.

Backlog:
21/01/2015: still 319 Models to paint or 27,01%
30/12/2016: Somehow the backlog has risen up to 900+ models :/

I would at least give in all warbands 4 to 6 models a spear, and the front line maybe a shield, but if you're fighting against elves that's not to nessecerry (S3 in the fight and S3 bows)

Is that part of a lunchtime league?

just gonna put my two cents in. 300 points 3 warbands with just moria goblins and normal shielded captains and faint every combat. it works with me every game since their is no way to over come the numbers. and i cant see the elven archers being a problem since not many of them can be played

It's a friendly battle with my wife on my next day off lol
