Hi everyone, just anyone's thoughts or opinions would help. So im playing as dwarves tommorow in a 500pt game against goblins. My army i thought up, its lightly over at 508pt, and he is letting me bend the rules slightly by playing dwalin as a warband leader of durins folk. This is what i have thought of so far.

1: Thorin with oakensheild and Orcrist; 10 warrior of erebor (6 spear 4 shield)
2: Dwalin; 3 iron guard, 3 khazad guard
3: (allies) Legolas; 5 wood elves with bow

I went for thorin and erebor warriors because, i knew thorin was a great hero and erebor warriors with spears are a good base troop.
I went for dwalin and his warband because, he is a beast, and khazad guard and iron guard are good as kind of an elite troop.
I went for legolas and elves because, basicly i thought it would be good to have some bows, as moria goblins have relativley low defence and legolas is a good well rounded hero.

Can you tell me any changes i should make or wether it is good or bad choices. Thanks

Well Thorin is a good pick against goblins because of Orcrist special. Dwalin is also very good as they are low defense, however your army's heroes D is pretty low too (for Dwarves) so my only concern would be survivability

what do you think about the elves, and yes i could hide them behind sheilds of khazad guard until it gets to combat

Well your elf contingent is over bow limit (unless you are using Mirkwood Rangers). Not many models either.

And I cringe at dwalin leading durin's folk There is a reason they are in separate lists, you can't have the best of both worlds.

Mid Sussex Wargamers

As much as I agree with the sentiment of all the dwarves being together, SouthernDunedain is right, I'd avoid mixing the two lists. That said if you don't have the models to do anything else then don't fret it

Anyhoo, I would either use Dwalin, Balin and Thorin leading 28 dwarves with spear/shield etc OR the following if you want to stick to your original plan:

Legolas with armour and cloak, 12 wood elves with spear, 4 with bow as well as sear.
Dwarf captain with shield, 2 Iron Guard, 10 dwarves with shield
Balin, 6 erebor dwarves with shield and spear.
