Well, channeled chill soul is the most powerful thing in the game, try this out:

The Necromancer
12 morannons with spear and shield

Orc Shaman
12 orcs with 1 piece o' kit

Orc Taskmaster
12 orcs with 1 piece o' kit

Orc Taskmaster
12 orcs with 1 piece o' kit

The taskmasters give Saruon his might back to cast the spell over and over, and i suppose the same even applies to the shaman, who uses channeled fury to keep all the orcs brave and alive.

Having Castellans as bodyguards may not work as there isn;t a guarantee they will even deploy near the Necromancer, and on their own they are weak against a proper warband...

I do have this models thats why I ask a good configuration for it.

Necromancer
3 castellans
ringwraiths
khamul
around 28 orcs
some orc captains
orc hunters on fell wargs
fell wargs around 12
4 giant spiders
spider queen
some trolls maybe....

still figuring out how to best employ this vs men race

if you take the necromancer you do want to channel your chill soul, so you needd taskmaster. so that's a must I think, if you take wargs and spiders you have to drop the shaman for a wraith or drummer.

dol gudur army:
necromancer
10 orcs wit 1piece o'kit

spider queen

taskmaster
10 orcs wit 1piece o'kit

captain on warg with shield
5 wild wargs
2giant spiders

1castalan of dol gudur.

is this something???
some orcs and some speed. the spiderqueen isn't super good, but a good killer in combi with transfix.

I'm personally very happy that some of the rule changes have made the Necromancer a viable model. I enjoyed playing it for thematic purposes in the past but for the points it just never quite felt like the best choice. Khamul (also very thematic) plus a high number of troops could be brought along for the same price and do a better overall job. The Necromancer was just never enough of a threat and was actually a liability.

Would you consider him useful below 750, such as a 600pt game? My gut instinct would say no but we haven't adopted the Hobbit rules locally yet so I'm still looking at things thru 'classic' SBG eyes.

As for Casteallans, they are tough and can do a good job in combat but they are also not usually best for the points...in 'classic' SBG. I would use one sometimes in a 500+ point list but not always. With no Might and no ability to call Stand Fast they just lacked the flexibility of a Hero but at Hero points. With the changes they are more reasonably pointed and so including one in a 500 point list looks better. I don't think I'd get two though unless I was going with a lot of affordable basic troops. In either case....spend the extra few points and get the Morgul Blade. 8)

My idea for this guys and some like "assassins", I know there not so good, but there not bad either, high defence, decent fight for a model that retained the quality for half the price compared to the previous.

In a recent game one of them tied up Balin and about half a dozen Dwarf Warriors for two turns. Considering it was a Take and Hold game and that meant those Dwarves never made it to the center in time to count I'd say he earned his points (but I think I still paid the old points for him now that I'm thinking back to it!! :-X ). If he wasn't surrounded and seriously outnumbered he might have lasted even longer and take a few with him, but even with double strikes it still took them two turns to burn thru all his Will (Fate). I have always found them to be hard models to kill off if played well and the Morgul Blade is always a good scare tactic. Often an opponent may avoid putting a major Hero against him "just in case".

Wild Wargs are only in the Moria list these days, so they can't be led by an orc on a warg.

I've only got the armybuilder from Lonelyknight, not the big rulebook, but that lists no Wild Wargs in the Azog's Hunters list, it has Fell Wargs (which are slightly different) and there are no spiders, so they'll have to go in the other warbands.

Well if I dont place the Necromancer... I get alot of points to use around which I can give on a nazgul or 2 to replace him with spells, the good thing on him is that he got a huge store of will and his spells are really nice specially the chill soul and hes hard to kill, also his aura gives a bit boost to my army in a way :P

Been checking a list so far with

warband 1

Necromancer
2 morannon with shields
4 dol guldur orcs with shield
4 dol guldur orcs with spear

warband 2

spider queen
this already goes for 500 and a few points...

I dunno how much good this is vs gondor armies
