My local Games Workshop is hosting a hobbit campaign on Saturdays for the next year. Basically you can come in and play through all the campaign levels in the new book. By doing so you earn points, and whoever has the most poins at the end of the year wins. Additionally extra points are awarded for using the real thorins company and having all your heroes painted. If you do not want to use thorins company, you may take up to 1000 points of named heroes (the last time they did this with LOTR, someone brought 20 captains and creamed everyone). So I was thinking of bringing....

Gil-Galad + shield
Glorindel + armour of gondolin + asfaloth
The twins + heavy armor
Galadriel + her mirror
Haldir + armour + bow
Rúmil + elven cloak
Legolas + armour + elven cloak
Thranduil
And Bombur

Total pts 995
Total might 29
Regenerating fate and will
Decent magic and good combat potential

I am quite happy with this list and fairly confident that I can beat the scenarios but I'm open to criticism. I don't know any of the scenarios  because I don't own the big book so any words of caution or some such would be appreciated.

Anyway, comments and criticism welcome :-D

Well, looks like fun, but i'd change Bombur for either a high elf stormcaller or some more horses for your heroes.

A stormcaller isn't a named hero.

I have also recently found that Arathorn is very good for his points cost, having 1 more attack than a high elf captain but for the same points and also being from arnor means he has a bow and could be very effective, especially against low defence models like the goblins.

Also, I know it's not much, but dropping 5pts would mean you could get merry or pippin.

You mean the scenarios from the movie? The scenarios in the Hobbit rulebook are the 6 ones on the sourcebooks.

Use Arwen then (best model in the game imo)

I don't have the model :(

The scenarios are the new ones in the hobbit rule book.
