I was wondering how effective a force of all knights with one warband of just archers as infantry support then have boromir and faramir mounted with a warband each would do, or have faramir lead a warband of rangers of godor as archer support,

Sounds like it could be a fun force.

I'd suggest either rangers or citadel guard for your archers. Keep Faramir with knights and then have either Damrod (rangers) or Beregond (citadel guard) to lead the archers.

I took a similar army to a doubles tournament and it got beat 4/6. Had boromir w/ banner & horse, 12 knights w/ shield, beregond and 6 citadel guard with bow.
i find those armies are too small and rely alot on getting the charge. also, the F3 of the knights really does let them down against uruks or other elite evil troops.
Faramir i wouldnt mount on a horse. He doesnt have the hitting power to lead a succesful charge. He is alright as a support hero but as a general he sucks.

Well I wouldn't have faramir as a general, I would have boomer as general with a mounted war and, faramir mounted with warband then another warband led by a cheap archer hero with archers, most likly rangers as I don't have any cithidrel guard except for 1 or 2 random models
