Hey boromir, welcome to the site! :)
those armies look good but out of personal experience; gothmog is not worth the points.
I suggest taking a cheaper hero like spider queen/bl num marshel/ durburs/sharku/something else.
Also something to help your goblins win the fight like a shade/drum.

hope this helps a bit 8)

Yeah spider queen was in original list but 4 contest she just dies instantly from shooting the only reason gothmog is in is because he is relitively hard to kill. Also other heroes just dont kill enough

also thanks 4 replying :-D

8 black guard 96
20 gbs 140
24 goblins with spear 120
20 goblins with bow
durbuz 60

So thought behind is bs captain 4 contest. 75 models for domination and meeting. S5 for khazad

I like your second Evil list, it's got lots of Might and lots of models.

Is this all for the GT?

I like it, less good for contest of champions but looks better for the other two scenarios. 8)

There's been a long discussion about this on the Last Alliance. All the top players are trying to find a counter to the inevitable Saruman/Legolas combo. The most popular choices seems to be either a Dragon (or another monster) or multiple Ringwraiths.

I'm not an expert, I've never been to a GT, but I think your army should be ok for Contest of Champions. The Black Guard Captain is pretty formidable and the Shadow Lord will be able to support him.

I can see the appeal of the dragon but against saruman and archers it will still lose most times and all other monsters have big weaknesses(no might on balrog or cd,gtoa loses attacks). I was debating troll chief but will most likely die before killing anything

Alright man?!

I found some pretty explicit pictures of Auryn on Facebook, you should check them out (joke, and we know each other by the way lol).

Anyway, if you don't want a monster, I think you need double wraith.

Shadowlord
Wraith either 2/7/1 or 1/7/2
Black Guard captain
Durburz
23 Gundabads
23 Goblins w/ spear
23 Goblins w/ bow

would be good, though in all honesty you probably won't need Durburz as you've got the captain and both the wraiths already, so you could downgrade him to a captain with bow and get more numbers and some spears on the archers. Also, because you've got Shadowlord, I think it would be a good idea to swap out the Gundabads for Prowlers. They're cheaper and you get F3 (oh yeah 8)), throwing daggers and Backstabber. They are D4 and S3 though, compared to the Gundabads D6 and S4, so I think it's just a matter of personal preference really. And one more thing: I can't remember, but if the captain can take a shield then give him one and drop an archer.

Alright indeed. I knew it was you because you told me you posted your amies, which I knew, and you also told me most of the replies you got. Quite simply, u r a n00b.

As for the Gundabads vs Prowlers debacle, if you want to weaken your army then that's fine; just as long as you're having fun. I trust the list will now be

Shadowlord
Wraith 2/7/1 or 1/7/2
Black Guard Captain w/ shield
Goblin Captain/ bow
23 Gundabads
23 Goblins w/ spear
15 Goblins w/ spear & bow
8 Goblins w/ bow

?

Because all they have is throwing weapons(backstabber is cool but relitively useless)they have low defence s3 and back to throwing daggers. With 23 prowlers thats 12/13 hits(asuming you even get priority)resulting in an average of 2 kills, not worth 46pts imo

Prowlers ARE overpowered though, which is worth something if you want to win, plus they don't have fight 2.

Take prowlers with shield. S3 is pretty decent as most Good forces are using the odd side of the defence chart which means S4 is wasted. D6 is good vs elven daggers and most good in combat for surviving, but Prowlers put out a lot more damage with their throwing weapons. With the Shadowlord you needn't worry about shooting hurting your force too much. Fight 3 is worth it's weight as well. Sure you still lose out to elites and elves but so does everything else, BUT you can draw with standard troops.

As for your issue with choosing a hero for contest it's what is troubling everyone for evil. The Spider Queen is out as she just gets peppered, dual wraith is looking viable with a Captain. However would you not consider Vrasku as your champion? He has his double shot xbow hitting on 3s and kills well in combat with support.

You're forgetting two major things:
1. That's 2 kills per turn, meaning that if you got priority or won heroics 2 times, that's already 4 kills. That also means even more kills across the 6 or so turns of close combat.
2. Before combat you move yourself into position 6" away, throw, kill 2, then combat comes. You can also get a chance to move away or chase your opponent. There are also moments when neither you nor your opponent can do much but you get a couple of throws, always adds another 0.xxx chance of killing something for free.

Personally I would only take BS if I was to have a Shade and perhaps a BS Drum with them, otherwise I'd go for the Prowlers.

If Throwing daggers were not worth taking then Wood Elves wouldn't be arming their front lines with them. Corsairs wouldn't be worth taking (and a front line corsair list won me the last GT) either.

Since everybody commented about evil, I'll comment about good:
I've been thinking about a similar list for Good, I wanna take Gondor again because I just despise playing with or against elves. The problem is that with 63 F3/D6 models you are getting annihilated by a basic F3/S4/D6 Morannon supported force and you're having a very hard time against Blackshields army (especially if BS go into the Shade/drum combo). The only viable Gondor lists for me are Fountain-led ones. Don't know if you've seen my last year's winning list - I had 45 models with 24 bows and 20 Fountains, giving me better firepower than your 63 model list and far greater survivability of the front line. Sure 45 might not be as good as 63 for domination, but given how fast WoMT can die, I wouldn't be surprised if 45 did better overall.

I wonder why you think so? Dragon can stay behind the lines and wait until both sides get close, essentially removing the threat of bows. Then the game comes down to whether Saruman can outkill the Dragon, which is going to be VERY difficult because you have to choose between Blasting and Transfixing. Blasts might kill, but they don't stop the Dragon from killing and munching its way to Saruman. Transfixes don't kill and due to 3 Will and Magic Resistance casting that doesn't guarantee the spell will work, meaning that a lot of the time Saruman has done nothing and Dragon is killing. Even if you Dragon loses combat, his D9, 9 Wounds and 3 Fate are more than enough to withstand a bunch of S3 blows. Needing 6/5 and 3 failed fates, and then a failed C4 test with 3 Might (ie. a double 1) makes it pretty invulnerable.

Also o like the idea of a shade/bs drum, how would you recommend incorporating them

Surely as the models for FG armed with shields don't actually exist you could just use other Gondor/Numenor models with shields and say they're FG armed with shield?
