Alrighty, while at work today, I was working up a couple of lists at 600 points for the tourney I'll be going to. Isengard is the closest army I have to completion, and is really my first choice. The arnor list is my second. Anyway, feedback would be greatly appreciated again on these! Quote: List 1 Isengard Raiders: Vrasku 3 Feral Uruks 5 Warg Riders w/ shield The Legions of the White Hand: Uruk Captain, Heavy Armor, Shield 15 Uruk Warriors, Shields 10 Uruk Scouts, Orc Bows 5 Uruk Warriors, Pike 10 Orc warriors, 9 spears 1 orc warrior with banner 600 points, 51 models, 26 break and this one: Quote: List 2 The Legions of the White Hand Uruk Captain, Heavy ARmor, Shield 20 Uruk warriors, shields 10 Uruk Scouts, Orc bow 10 Uruk warriors, pikes 15 orc warriors, spears Isengard Raiders: Lurtz 57 models, 29 break, 600 points Then just for fun and numbers: Quote: really?
50 orcs with a 1 point upgrade (shield, bow or 2 hander) 14 uruks, shields 10 scouts, bows uruk captain, heavy armor, shield 74 models, 37 break, 590 points. |

I should mention that I believe that specialized armies will do AWESOME for 1 scenario, but a balanced army will carry the day...that is if the scenarios are similar to last years... |

nice lists, I think the best would be the first because it has cavelry. tips for the first list: -drop the banner for numbers -swap vrasku for sharku; it's good to have might with cavalry but you'll probably won't be able to get him for this tourny (unless you already have him ofcourse) - take one or two more scout w/ bows goood luck at the tournement |

Here are my suggestions, if you want hear them ... (I have experience from my brother's Isengard army): 1) -Keep tha banner cause it is useful -Vrasku is real useful so keep him -Drop the Uruk with bows and take 8 crossbows(if you can)... They kill easier... 2) -Drop the bows again for crossbows - If you want take Ugluk cause his rule is useful( But you may as me like him betetr so you can keep him !) 3) -Drop bows for crossbows and get spears at the orcs Just my advice... If you want hear it, if you don't then I am okay with it |

I like the second list most, it looks the most solid. Personally, I'd like some crossbows (and maybe Vrasku instead of Lurtz), as I have a slightly inane fear of them. I think at 600pts you would just about be ok to field Saruman. Not sure how keen you'd be on the idea, but it might be worth considering. |

I alsio prefer the second list, however the feral uruks nd warg riders in the first list could make play more interesting, so maybe that would be better. That probably did not help you though did it |

Thanks for the suggestions guys. I'm going to stick with bows this time though - last time my x-bows weren't very effective. Then again, I was only the ringer, so I wasn't TOO concerned with strategy. Hrm...maybe I should consider them Speaking of strategy, how is Saruman best used? I have not used a wizard in my army before. |

Saruman is useful at least for his points... He has one free will(one free magic in other words) each turn and so you can do any action you want... When I had my whoel Gandalf I used his free will and spent the normal will in the last turns... |

If I was fielding Saruman, or a similar wizard, I would first of all use him to deal with all of my opponents Heroes (and any other expensive models, such as trolls). I would then just Sorceous Blast everyone. |

Unless he was cut down by the hordes whilst he was busy giant killing, which can happen. |

Keep him behidn your lines and open ways in your move phase(as I did with Gandalf) to sorcheous blast everyone but watch your friends(One time my brother killed Gimli by accident) |

Keep him behind the line and immobilise your enemies heros each turn. If they have magic, this will either make them useless or they will resist, wasting will. If they don't have magic, they will either run out of will quickly or they just sit there, useless. Last game I played I immobilised Glorfindel, slew his horse, repeated and actually killed him. If his herosaren't that dangerous (or are already taken care of), get him into position for a Sorcerous Blast. Against any shield wall, especially dwarves, this could cause you to win the game. If he EVER gets into a situation where he'd be in trouble of being charged, or if you're up against a mostly cavalry force, use his Palantir to your advantage. It's better to use it right when you need it (espectially if you had priority the last turn), than to risk a bad priority roll. |

If you do keep him behind your lines, make sure you either leave a gap or put him in base contact with a model from the front rank other wise he will not have line of sight for his spells (unless he's behind a line of goblins or other short troops ) |

True, but that shouldn't be that hard to do. |

If you use saruman then you would be mad not to takte grima aswell. As for saruman, keep him behind your lines and cast spells out to the enemy. Once the lines have met have him lie down after casting each spell, so he can't be targeted by bowfire or spells. If you have saruman then vrasku isn't as much use as a captain. |

Ah, Grima. The single best "upgrade" for any hero. In one siege that I played, my friends dwarves (including Durin) fled from him, leaving the walls clear of any heros. The only thing about him, he'll make Saruman your opponents number 1 target (if he already wasn't). |

Tbh tho, saruman is 170 points, unless if your playing a 2000+ point game, he will be their number one target anyway :p |

That's why I added in the (if he already wasn't) part. |
