Decided to get out the Uruks again :)
I've always used them with mahur because I love the speed on so many models, and now I've added a Black Guard Drummer allied in from Dol Guldor.

500 Pts - Isengard Raiders Roster

Hero (1#, 60 pts)
. . 1 Mauhúr, 60 pts (Mauhúr's Marauders; Relentless Pursuit; Hand Weapon; Armour)

Uruk-hai Horde (10#, 90 pts)
. . 10 Mauhúr's Marauders, 90 pts (Mauhúr's Marauders; Hand Weapon; Armour)

Uruk-hai Horde (16#, 160 pts)
. . 16 Mauhúr's Marauders, 160 pts (Mauhúr's Marauders; Hand Weapon; Armour; Shield)

Uruk-hai Horde (12#, 140 pts)
. . 1 Mauhúr's Marauders, 30 pts (Mauhúr's Marauders; Hand Weapon; Orc Bow; Armour; Horn)
. . 11 Mauhúr's Marauders, 110 pts (Mauhúr's Marauders; Hand Weapon; Orc Bow; Armour)

Minor Hero (1#, 45 pts)
. . 1 Black Guard Drummer [dg], 45 pts (Advance!; Hand Weapon; Heavy Armour)

Total Roster Cost: 495

5 pts spare.. I'm out of scouts with shields at the moment, but I will try to make some/acquire some so I can spend the 5pts :)

Movement 10" Uruks! Zoooom!

Very well tactics... Your army will be very fast and also the drummer is very useful for this... :D

I really like the idea of the list but beware of dwarves as they would probably beat this army solely because of higher defence+abundance of F6....

Cheers,
I don't see dwarves being too much of a problem.. I can run rings around them easily enough, they don't have spear support, and their D8 characters are still wounded on 6's. The F6 might be an issue.. but a very minor one.

Maurauders have +1" move more than normal uruks and the drummer adds an extra 3".

I like the army. I never thought of using a drummer with marauders. It's an interesting tactic and it works at this points' level with this army I'd imagine. Only problem would be that you can't spread out that much due to the drum's necessity. And that would also mean that if your drummer dies your uruks are going to be left high 'n dry.

I'd be interested in hearing how this army playtests and what your tactics were 8)

Cool idea. Although I never really liked the idea of giving uruks (F4) bows. Because now, with the drummer, 30% will have to stay behind. You lose both the benefit of an all 10" army and F4. I'd just convert them with shields.

They don't sit back, they run forward with the rest and then peel off when the drum isn't needed, they remain close enough so I can charge them if need be, as theyre still uruks! They just give that bit of fire support i'd regret not having, plus with the drum they can go 5" and still shoot ;)
