Post subject:  700 pts Isengard army SBG
I'm going to battle a friend in a couple of days.
He's taking elves and I was going to take Isengard, here's the list


700 pts Isengard.

Isengard raiders:
-Lurtz

legions of the white hand:
-urek-hai shaman
-15 urek-hai warriors with shield
-15 urek-hai warriors with pike
-5 urek-hai with crossbows
-10 urek-hai scouts with orc bows
-5 orc warriors (with no equipment)

the nazgul:
-the shadow lord


53 units, 6 might, 15 bow shots

thoughts?

Well first I would like to say it's Uruk. ;)

Also, the Orc Warriors? I would remove them and give the Shadow Lord a horse or something like that.

Berserkers? As you have the Shadow Lord you will be able to get them in unhindered from bow fire and once in close combat they will destory the elves. Also is there a drum for the Uruk's of the white hand? If so it may be worth taking one. Also remember you can fight with two pikes supporting a single model so you can get in your 3 attacks it might be worth trying to form a pike block. The shaman is a good choice. What type of elves is your friend taking?

I would remove the orcs to add some Uruk-hais or even a horse for shadow lord...
I see you will use him as a shield for arrows...
The shaman would be also useful... :-D

Seems good to me. I cannot remember the Shoot Value of Uruk-Hai Scouts but if it's 4+ then they are a worthy addition. What are the orcs for, to increases numbers?

It's okay, so the Uruks attack and as they have a high fight value and also spear support it will be hard to lost the battle 8)

yeah, but the one downside is they will have a lower defence so they may be a target for archers?

yeah, I think this army is pretty much settled. I am guessing that it is the Isengard Raiders list that is being used, if so if he wants Cavalry he could add a few Warg Riders. Could make a difference having a more mobile unit and if the rider is killed there is a chance the Warg will stay and fight. :)

Yeah, i've never understood why the horses can't have an attack and kick opponents or whatever :rofl:

Anyway, the option to add cavalry is a great asset to any army, which the likes of Drawves and Arnor armies are lacking.

Lurtz isn't that great. Sharku is better for leading wargs, and Ugluk or Vrasku would be better for infantry.
