Post subject:  Harad 500 points SBG

So I have been working on several armies lately, and here is the latest one.

1 Golden King of Abrakhan 115
1 Haradrim Chieftain w/ horse and war spear 60
8 Haradrim Warrior w/ spear 48
6 Serpent Guard 48
10 Haradrim Warrior w/bow 60
7 Watchers of Karna (2 w/bow) 65
8 Serpent Riders 104

500 points, 41 models, 4 might, 12 bows

Was thinking of maybe swapping some of the serpent guard for the merchant guard, what do you guys think?

C&C welcome

Yeah, I would say swapping the serpent guard for MGoA. You'll need models for the de-horsed riders anyway (unless, of course, you have more than two blisters). Other than that, looks like a very solid list! :yay:

Looks like a VERY solid list. If you wanted to max out on models you could mix it around a bit, remove the Serpent Guard as your Watchers are the elites on foot, use the spare points to include more Watchers and Haradrim Warriors to bring your number to the max.

IDK. The merchant guard seem really thematic but I suppose being thematic dosen't win you games.

Thanks guys. So I have swapped the serpent guard for the merchant guard instead of removing them because even if I had removed the serpent guard and gone with more warriors I would have only been able to increase my numbers by 2. Plus this way I get some 2 handed weapons that dont have the -1 to hit, which is a nice addition i think.

I like it from a theme and list perspective.

Have you ever played with the Golden King as a leader yet (even in proxy)? I think his force is an interesting spin on the otherwise typical Harad army but I haven't seen how well he really works out regarding his special rule and his MGs.

Thanks, I thought it would be cool building an army around the Golden King. I haven't yet played with him, though I imagine that his special rule is pretty useful. Not to mention that he is a banner and a leader in one, which is always good. I am going to try to play with a proxy model for him and the MG sometime soon, but if anyone has played with him I would like their input.

Hey guys, I am just trying to work out what to buy next, so I have come up with a 1000 pt list that I didnt want to start another thread for. Here it is:

The Serpent Horde

The Golden King - 115
9 Haradrim Warrior w/spear - 54
13 Haradrim Warrior w/ bow - 78
6 Merchant Guards - 48
7 Watcher of Karna (2 w/bow) - 65
11 Serpent Riders - 143
The Easterlings
1 Easterling Captain w/ shield - 55
10 Easterling Warrior w/ shield - 80
6 Easterling Warrior w/ shield and spear - 60
6 Easterling Warrior w/ bow - 48
The Nazgyl
Dark Marshall - 120
The Shadow Lord w/horse - 130

996 points, 72 models, 21 bows, 8 might

My plan was to send the serpent riders with the shadow lord, therefore reducing the chances of their horses being shot out form under them and having the dark marshall with the foot troops to act as a banner and to counter heroes.

The Easterlings would be in front, with some harad bowmen behind them, harad spearmen behind that, and the easterling pikes behind that or on the very sides. The bowmen would rotate out once it got close to fighting. At least that would be my strategy for a domination type match.

What does everyone think?

I wouldn't say the dark marshall is nesesarry. Get Amdur instead and a few more Easterlings with spear and shields and if you have anything left over, maybe swap the captain out for a dragon-knight to do the dirty work for the Shadow Lord on a hero he has timely transfixed. 8)
