What about the other ones in the box? The ones with bow or spear? Where is best to get spare bits and bobs?

What about playing some Black Numenorean's with the Castellan of Umbar upgrade? They look like they would pretty good, plus if they lose the fight at least they don't die easy? What does everyone think to them?

I'm more a fan of a 50% bow harad force so I avoid BNs but in the old days I used them all the time in my minas morgul army.

What army do you tend to play then? In say a 500 point game?

I still don't have any watchers yet. What do you think of Arbalasters?

@ cereal_thief: I like the two lists and the second is similar to one of the 500pt options I had worked out. I wanted to ask though if you meant Watchers of Karna in that last warband ( w/ the chieftain ) or actually Warriors of Karna. If so, why the Warriors of Karna? I may be remembering wrong but wasn't their only difference in Courage?

Warriors of Karna cost 2pts more that Haradrim and only have a 3+ shoot value. For a single point more, you could have a Watcher, who is just as good at shooting and SO much better at fighting. I would never waste points on the Karna upgrade.

Yes they are Warriors of Karna.

2 reasons
1) I only have 3pts left. So could only upgrade 3 of these to watchers.
2) I only have 3 watchers in my collection.

Basically people talk about the pro's of Watchers but frankly if you don't have the points then you don't upgrade the watchers but to warriors if you just want to shoot better.

@ cereal_thief: agreed. Sometimes you do come up a few points short and can look around and find an upgrade of one type or another. Even if it's not the most efficient use of points, it's still better to go in with a couple upgrade models you normally wouldn't worry about rather than going in with only 497 points spent. Unspent points are less efficient than any upgrade.

Thanks for the clarification, Draugluin. There are a few options now to take the basic Haradrim warrior up a little and I don't quite have them memorized yet. With the 50% bow limit combined with (arguably useful) poison arrows a 3+ is nice. Eventually you will get those archers into combat though and the melee effectiveness of the Watchers is really nice.
