Hi,

I'm looking to buy the townsfolk from Ebob, I placed an order along with some other stuff about a year ago and never chased it up. From what I gather they've stopped trading now, does anyone know where I could buy the townsfolk? Or know of anywhere that would supply a good Barliman and Bree Gatekeeper model?

Also, the scale of Redbox Games models looks right but their website seems to be down- have they stopped trading too? And does anyone know of another UK supplier of their products?

Thanks, Jake

Last I heard Ebob was barely but still active.. best to send a good few messages and prompt him into action. Don't know of any alternative suppliers, sadly. Wouldn't mind getting another few of his figures, but won't be ordering from him any time soon.

The UK supplier of Red Box is Hasslefree Miniatures, under the Artemis Black's tab: http://hfminis.co.uk/shop?category=artemis-blacks
They also purchased a few moulds; those figures can be found in their own Fantasy section.

Thanks, I'll drop him an email.

Yeah I did manage to find Hasslefree but three out of the four things I'm after seem to be out of stock. I guess I'll just have to be more patient!

Don't know of any further suppliers of Red Box minis; they're just a tiny company after all. Indeed, I was very glad to see HF emerge as the European supplier, saves a good bit on import taxes and the likes. Downside is that the products are indeed very popular, although they get regular shipments (every week?) and, by the looks of things, they tend to aim to have everything in stock whenever a new batch arrives.

In all honesty, I would forget your ebob purchase. Red box is good though

I can't give more information about the current state of eBob's website, but I did find this from a ebay search:
http://www.ebay.nl/itm/eBob-Miniatures- ... SwRQlXemae

In addition, and this is especially awesome I think, are these:
http://www.ebay.nl/itm/eBob-Miniatures- ... Sw-KFXdnEt
http://www.ebay.nl/itm/eBob-Miniatures- ... SwuzRXebJF
http://www.ebay.nl/itm/eBob-Miniatures- ... SwzJ5Xd5Py

Some long out of production models he used to sell! You can guess who they could easily represent.. ;) Prices are steep though.

Red-Box-Games models blend in very well with LotR model in height, but are significantly more slim (and realistic) than LotR models. Doesn't bother me though, and I can really recommend them!

After reading around surely Ebob having a site open and taking money like that must be a bit illegal...?!

I can't justify £26 for the two models off eBay, which is what it would be with uk postage but I'll keep my eyes out and I'll drop Hasslefree an email too. Thanks!

Have you tried messaging ebob on Facebook? He usually replied within a day.

I spent a year emailing him, at reasonable intervals (about once every other month) and eventually he just stopped answering.

Yeh don't email him, I sent him a friend request on Facebook and just messaged him on there.

Whatever works. I have no interest in pursuing a business relationship with him. I burned that bridge. I hope the £45 was worth losing a customer.

Hi DMS,

I've messaged him on Facebook (Ebob Miniatures) but have had no reply- should I be using a personal account or different name do you know?

Thanks

Just wanted to say I bought some of the knight heads from ebob before Christmas and they arrived within standard shipping time. I did ask him if they were in stock and ready for immediate shipping before paying, to which he replied that they were.

I was leery ordering, but they came as expected.

I hope he is back up and running. I must say I was surprised by his lack of communication. I've done numerous deals with him and they were always perfect.

His horses are the best around. Simply beautiful.

tI took more then a year for my townfolk to arrive, but eventually they did. Just keep sending messages by all means possible.

I never got my models, been more than a year and a dozen messages including 'this is just illegal' but he's not responding. Even more annoying to find that he has responded to someone else and for the exact same models, albeit mine was with a few other things too.

I'd strongly recommend not using ebob.

I'll admit I was leery, but it was only a $13 order, so not heartbreaking if it didn't arrive. I also pay though Paypal, so there's that backup as well.
