Hey One-Ring, how's it going?

So I recently posted my WIP thread and uploaded a picture of my Thranduil and one Elven spearman/glaive/whatever. The gold on my Elf is a little bit too.... 'punchy'. Looking around, the best result I've seen that I'd like to emulate is the colour of the Mirkwood captain breastplate on the games-workshop website.

Does anyone have any advice how to get such a pale/metal gold, as opposed to a glossy/rich vibrant one that I currently have? I'm hoping to make the gold more subtle. Currently I use Balthasar gold, Ghenna, and then highlight with Auric. Desperate for advice on this as I have roughly another 26 Elves to make and really want to get the pace going.

Thanks in advance.

I used sycorax bronze with a drybrush of golden griffon.

I plan to use xv88 on the armor (flat parts) with rhinox hide lines drawn on similar to the tutorial for the Palace Guard Shield in WD dec 2013) then highlight the edges of the armor with sycorax and ironbreaker.

That's a very interesting take on it. Unfortunately I'm without access to paints for sometime, so I'll have to find a way to get what I have to 'work'.

Will you be posting any pictures of yours once they're done?

So I tried Seraphim sepia, but with disappointing results. It kind of made it just turn more... 'reddish'. I'm going to try and go over with ghenna gold and apply agrax until it's the correct shade, then highlight with auric and maybe runefang.
